Goddard loose in defence

Huge Goddard fan let me state this from the start.

My query towards Brendon is when playing loose across half back does he do enough to plug a hole, drop in front of the full forward or is he to busy trying to make space and get a easy kick.

Yes BJ is a beautiful kick and no doubt the player we most want to have the ball when going forward to set up an attacking play but when the team is struggling down back would it be more benefecial for BJ to be flying 3rd man up, creating a spoil, make a contest.

Has Goddard become a flat track bully that only plays well when things are on his own terms, doesn't seem to be able to shake a tag and doesn't appear to be winning the contested stuff.

While J Roo was dominating could BJ sacrificed his own game to help the team and sure up the defence?

BJ just seems a little lost to me unless free wheeling across the back line on his own.

At times he looks incredibly slow!

Against tigers, in last qtr, he got tackled by someone 20kg lighter but didnt try to run thru him. got held up and turned it over. I wonder if Watters has put a bit of acid on BJ for more spine and BJ maybe dont like it? Let him go to GWS for a young talent.
