Hold your breath and have faith in the Coaching Panel - it is wide ranging and has a good depth of those with "people skills."

I must admit that a senior/experienced coach may be more capable of working within our current internal issues/problems. The longer term worry would be that a "gun" younger coach may be overlooked !

I texted my acceptance to the board and my representation, but then 2.5 hours later became a coach of a different AFL team.

Apparently de rigour nowdays.

The only choice IMHO, is a new first-time coach (Yabby was one of those in the '60s). Experienced premiership coaches or premiership players from other clubs have not served us too well (Alves and Sheldon excepted). Whoever is selected must get the full backing of the board who need to stand back, not expect instant success, and give the new coach his full tenure to develop a premiership team.

What do they all have in common

1. They are legend coaches
2. They were all sacked by a club or two
Another thing they have in common is the fact someone gave them a shot as an untried coach to start of with ... It's no coincidence our best winning % coaches have been guys we gave a shot to and let them make their own history not someone who has been there and done it before

Press conference tomorrow morning 11am to announce the new coach.

He's young and untried. Has extensive experience in football, just not at the highest level. Played only two AFL games. Has coached junior football and is very good with paperwork. And doesn't mind Seaford.

My coaching philosophy is very much new age. Score more than the opposition and you will generally win the game.

I only had that one screen on my powerpoint presentation.

Done deal and my sauce is me.

Well shoot. There goes that then. Was hoping to combine the job with my mowing round.

Need the two jobs just to make ends meet. Mowing is quite lucrative.

i wonder if there will be a role for Eade in some capacity ?

I would be happy to have him in a senior assistant role. Just feel like we need an old head on the coaching panel next year.

A young, passionate & loyal coach is what we require in our (latest) hour of need. Bring on Banger. But Harves' may initially need an experienced mentor. I'm willing to have a go. I've coached the boys before, and am willing to get back into the coach's box again, though quite happy to take a back seat.

I know it's been a while for me, but how hard can it be...?

'Kick it long' - worked for Tom Hafey (and me  ).
'Just do something' - worked for Kanga, even if not on the actual day he said it.
'You've got 30 minutes to make a name for yourselves.' - worked for Jeansy.

Gotta go now, think I've just received a text...

Thanks for the kind words.

I've actually only been 'away' for tax purposes - on my accountant's advice. (Maybe if he'd been advising Ro$$y the club wouldn't be in this situation? But now Ro$$y is financial again and no doubt still into mining stocks, I seem to remember Poseidon was promising big things... just like Freo...)

I only post what I believe is true and if it is my opinion I say so. I take Michael Roberts as a fairly credible source.
