Not sure what this means??

Were we not trying to win the last few weeks, or with youngsters (who all did well) in the side??.. 3 out of 4 games, we did actually win??

Looking forward to next week's inclusion of McQualter in the team...

Then it'll be back to round 1, and lets do it all again...

Blake / Mcevoy ruck duo has worked best for us this year. Joey is an obvious inclusion.

Back to the Future with that side or reliving the past? That side has been good but not good enough when it counts the most.

So much for playing the kids. The kids get one, maybe two weeks if they're lucky. How's that enough time to get into the hurly burly of it all?

I'd like to see Sippo back sooner rather than later and Will Johnson surely deserves another chance (this time actually playing at full forward).

So you'd leave out Joey and Blake if they were available?

Extremely disappointed that Lynch and to a lesser extent Walsh aren't at the very least named on the emergency list.
How disillusioned would Lynch be getting? He does much more in the VFL than the likes of Polo, Gamble, Siposs, Ledger, Cripps and even Gram and Blake (when they were there), yet it still isn't enough to get a game (or even named emergency), even though he's one of few to have shown something up forward for St Kilda this season (in the one game they did give him). :?

The worst part of this team selection to my mind is the Emergencies. Kosi cant be match fit. Plenty I prefer to Polo. Nothing wrong with Ledger though.

The size and number of "BRUISES" could be why Ledger & Sippos missed out this week. We need to trust that our coaches and development staff know what they are doing !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

The Saints are a bees dick out of the 8. Can't play the kids just for development when a win is more important. Blake and Joey will give us the best opportunity.

Pretty ordinary Ledger is not playing as he has shown in limited time he knows how to find the ball , would have been great to see him play a full game with Joey back in we could have used his speed against the Cats. Not sure what Blake gives the team now that we are looking to the future , looking at the bench not sure who will be the sub hopefully not RAY , can't see somone coming on and turning a game our way from that four ! Ledger gives impact of the bench

[quote="SainterK"]Interesting emergencies, sensing a late change

[quote="Eastern"] Interesting emergency list. What are the odds that there is at least 1 "Late" change? !!

I think Kosi will come into the side.
I can't see any other reason for naming him as emergency.

Kosi for Blake and Polo for Joey are definitely on the cards if they don't come up in time.

Obviously not.... Blake/McEvoy ruck has worked well, and Joey is a gun...

Those inclusions are fine...

But Raph has used up all his credits, and Gamble hasn't earnt any...

How they find themselves ahead of Lynch, Sippos, Johnson, who have the upside to match McEvoy, Steven, Armo, is beyond me...

It was discussed on SEN earlier this week if we did get on a bit of a winning run on the back of a bit of youthful excitment alongside the core, what would Ross do??...

Would he revert to the tried and true, play it conservative, or throw caution to the wind, and back the kids...

Looks like we know the answer...

This time last year, Malthouse dropped Medhurst, Presti, Lockyer etc, and went with some kids... Changed direction...

We're heading back in the direction from where we came...

Yep that's the only one out of the 3 that would potentially have the Cats jumping at the death knock if he was a late inclusion ....but probably needlessly!!

No full forward. Structural integrity is a worry, shields down to 30%. She's breaking up!!!

They have gone for experience to win.

I am very surprised that both Joey and Blake are in. I would not be at all surprised if Joey is a late withdrawal, for Ledger.

Does anyone else agree its dissapointing we have no 1st or 2nd year players in Sat night, and only one 3rd year?

Not from a selection perspective (the ins are a given if fit) but more that none of the kids weve tried this year have leapt from the pack and screamed "PICK ME EVERY WEEK". Yes consistancy is hard at that age, but it does happen, pretty much every year and at more than one Club

Whens our turn?

Still, Armo, Steven and McEvoy being regulars is a positive. And we've used more players than any team except GC so far this year. Can't complain about playing the kids imo.

If I had to guess I would say Gram for the sub. Can be an impact player and is our least valuable player.

Raph has shown he isn't a good choice for the sub.
Peake has been a handy sub but he's been in good enough form to deserve a whole match.

Gamble isn't the sort of player that you'd usually have as a sub.

I'd have Blake as an outsider.

Fully agree.
If Ross thinks were going to win the flag this year with pretty much the "same old same old's", that have failed to get it done in the past two seasons, minus Lenny, he's kidding himself and doing us a disservice.
Malthouse showed real guts last year, picking "kids" ahead of those he knew would probably perform better at the time and was rewarded with a Premiership, after the "kids" got better and better as the year went on. Ross has shown little this year, only picking the "kids" when he had exhausted pretty much every other option and now he leaves them out for those we know aren't going to win us a Premiership.
I probably haven't been this disappointed with our team selection since we played Geelong in round one (with all the old faces that failed last year).
