One big positive about Sippos is I don't think he'll be overawed playing. Cousin (among others) have reported a head the size of Texas.

Don't really care TBH, Ild rather have a big head than a d**khead.

Arryn does not have a big head, he would be still pinching himself......would be a little intimidated i would think.....but hopefully he just settles and enjoys the moment.....and executes...

Going out to bat in a gf is quite a thrill, particularly facing the new rock....but if you let it get hold of you, it can have a negative effect.....

Deep breath, look around and take in the surroundings...another deep breath....think a positive thought, and narrow the focus..... And execute the skill set required....

Out of interest. Harves and John Georgiou aside, I can't think of a younger Saints debutant in recent memory. 18 and 140 odd days.

Any ideas?

I have been absolutely hanging to see him play afl. He will be a player, they gave him number 2 as a pick 75 in the draft they rate him a little. And he is supposedly a life long Saints fan.

Never seen so much hype on a kid who was a handy fwd in the TAC cup, a bit less than that for vic country, and has been handy at sandy, but yet to have a dozen poss.

Take some pressure off the boy....he is two years away

Tough gig to play a whole match.

Agree BigMart. A couple of years away, but would be nice if he could get 5 or 6 games experience this year as a base.

Very happy with Sippos tonight, competed well and kicked a fantastic goal. Agree with others he is a few years away but i feel he is definitely one for the future. You get the feeling the club thinks so also, giving him the no.2 guernsey

So your saying he isn't the next Tony Lockett? Obviously ignorant. If he takes two years he will be the new whipping boy by then.

He just asked for the jumper because it was free, they did not choose him for it....they are just numbers....

Arryn had 3 posessions tonight.....one goal....started ok, his opponent led him to the ball 4 times in the last quarter, and took 2 uncontested marks....

He showed that he can kick.....

Although, he was ignored three times......bit of port adelaide syndrome

yeah, and had the confidence to have the shot from 55.

the only problem is that i can't see how he's going to get much of it to kick the goals. he's too small to take big marks and not agile enough to pop up around packs. he'll only really get it on the lead, and given the way we go inside 50 (slowly) that might be tough more often than not.

still, he's got a lot good about him.

The kick on him got a couple of mentions on radio during the week. His second one showed them to be right. Nice to see a new recruit who can do this for a change.

Look forward to him in a few years time with a few pre seasons under his belt and see what damage he can do with that foot

The future is looking so bright for this kid that soon he'll have to wear shades 8-)

Wow, what a livewire he proved to be when RL finally put him on.

There was a chase down attempt on Yarran in the 1st half that showed he can move. Kicking is a lock. Natural spring. Certainly has potential and not too concerned about possessions in AFL Game 1.

Only have to look at Armo to see how one can develop with 30 odd games experience.

Just waiting for commentators to take flight "SI-POSSSSSS"

Now for Ledger and Winmar.

His kick to Cripps inside 50 was also exciting, the delivery was lovely.

Had Cripps realised he was hot, he probably could of led to the ball a little.

However I liked 'Siposs to Cripps'

Showed he could play at this level and compete.

Positives

Kicking for goal is awesome
Competes well when in the contest and got it front and centre which is half the battle in a marking contest down forward (lead to a cripps goal in the third).
Good speed andwroks hard at ground level. His tackle lead to the goal to gram that might have won us the game.
Is still very young and it was his first game!

Negatives
Not strong overhead just yet. Needs two years+ in the gym.
As mentioned he only got 3 touches.
His oppenent not only lead him to the ball several times but was instrumental in carltons rebound.
Got buffeted out of it too much.

But alot to work with and would like to see him play for the rest of the year.

For a low possession debut there was certainly a lot to like about his game.

The kid seems to have quite a few tools to his trade and it should be exciting to watch him develop over the years.

He contested a couple of marking contests that brought the ball to ground. One ended up with a goal.

Game was serviceable. They could have kicked to him a few more times than just BOMBING inside fifty late.

You gotta admit...his goal was an absolute beauty.

Was wrapped with his game... Not statistically, or impact wise, but what he showed, how he moved...

He will be a player, and very soon, but must now start to work even harder...

I really hope he doesn't get dropped for a Gamble or Peake... Must play the next 5 games... His experience at the top level this year will fast track his development, something Ross has not done to any young Saint since his time as coach...

Siposs definitely has a role to play in our side going forward.
And that role is to get near Roo every time he takes a mark, or gets a free kick, within kicking distance, to receive the handball and take the shot at goal for him.

Sipposs, Kosi, Milne, Schnides, Steven and Roo at CHF would be a potent forward line.
