Been waiting for the update K......thanks

Yes it is a worry...........need to be careful.

Must be hard for the boy's not to go for him though, the work rate to create the option is phenomenal (spell check).

Interesting to note the last three weeks the boys have looked very capable in the attacking side of their game with scores of 151, 115, 115 points.

Perhaps we shouldn't fear a game so much now if the boys find themselves playing a much free flowing game than anticipated, they may be quite capable of winning a shoot out.

Goal kicking has been a problem for a while. Every year is the same. Start well, but as the season wears on, less players kick goals. Needs to be addressed.

That's true, but the above spread shows we have heaps of guys that are capable.

its also easier to kick goals when the ball moves fwd and u dont give time for the opposition to get numbers back. saints slow ball movement going fwd allows opposition to get numbers back too often.

Yeah and I can remember quite a few times during the year - 11, 12 & 13.

"The Magpies have ticked a massive box in their premiership pursuit, averaging an unprecedented 10.2 individual goalkickers a game this season."

You just have to look at the top 50 goal kickers for the season and see just how many Collingwood midfielders feature.

Roo kicked more goals than Cloke playing 13 less games, Kosi kicked the same amount as Dawes. It's not really our forward line that doesn't compare...

It's the resting ruckman and midfielders contribution that make them so dangerous.

Unfortunately I can't see us picking up a handful of goal-kicking mids, the thing is they get blamed for being inaccurate, but when you have 60+ entries/combined with a huge press, goals will come - even to players that aren't amazing goal kickers.

Good post. Unfortunately Kosi didn't do things consistantly, as I'm all for a full forward being a reasonably consistant goal kicker, not some pawn who takes physical pressure off others, or swaps in the ruck, as to me it is a wasted position if played that way. We do need to find a quick strong natural half forward flanker (not a bits and pieces player like Eddy or Geary), and also need to get finals spectator Milne out of there and probably put Steven there for the future. I would look at also getting Dal Santo into the forward line, as I think he has lost a little bit of hardness and speed as a midfielder, but his skills could be of use in the forward half.
