Regarding the latest pies scandal...

The Herald Sun has chosen not to name the players at this stage.

Where was this type of reporting when Lovett was accused??

or Milne and Montagna??

or even Fevola over the indecent exposure claims...

Eddie really is everywhere

Were they all named first by the herald Sun and were they all named within 48 hours. I think we need to remember the story before we say they are showing bias.

Heres a start - Lovett - alleged incident 23/12/09 - named by the Herald Sun Dec 24th 09 (Aaron Langmaid)
To me it doesn't seem fair that Lovett was named almost immediately - yet H.S choose not to name the Collingwood players.

Both Lovett Pies were still not charged at the time the story broke.

Should I check the others as well to see if the H.S named them almost immediately ?

To be honest i couldnt give a stuff because I dont beleive in the conspirancy theory and even if true I couldnt give a stuff. I will leave for other who think the pies get only positive news.

So you happily pot the people who suggest unfair or unbalanced reporting and when an example's pointed out in black and white you're not interested in the issue.

Right.

Well to be honest it wasnt actually pointed out. Lovett was named in the herald sun within 48 hours but really what is more important, was that the first outlet he was named in or was it common knowledge because he was named elsewhere.

That's irrelevant. As below....
The Herald Sun has chosen not to name the players at this stage.
They could have chosen not to name the player back then too.

It is very relevent because if it was common knowledge they would have named them. They did exactly the same with Milne and Joey but we just dont want to believe that.

Why the 'if'?

Is there anyone that does not know who the two are?

There is no conspiracy. It was explained today on :3aw. Milne, montagna and Lovett were named by their accusers in the procedure. The names of the Collingwood players have not so the media cannot state who was there until police name names.......or something technical along those lines.

Interesting to know if the two, who are well known, left for USA with the rest of the team.

Conspiracy theory wasn't an issue with me - I just wanted balanced reporting. I accept St Stevens explanation. Perhaps because of the complexity and seriousness of the charges the accusers won't be named until the prosecution investigation is completed.

So are you saying that the alleged victim made a complaint to the police that she had been sexually assulted,
furnished details of the alleged assualt,
including that they were Collingwood footballers,
and one a Premiership player
without actually naming anybody?

All of the above facts have been published already, so if what you're reporting is correct, than I'm sorry but it beggars belief that the girl could identify that 2 Collingwood players were involved and that one was a premiership player, without knowing their names.

If she didn't identify them, who did?
Aterall they presented themselves to the police for interviews.
Who told them they were required for interview?
The police?
How would they know they were involved unless they were accused/identified by someone?

I watched the live chat with Robbo today, someone asked why the Herald Sun was happy to name Fev in his latest scandal, but not the Collingwood players...given both are simpy allegations at this point.

He simply said "don't know"

I am not comprehending the difference myself...

Well, more to the point they wont piss off Collingwood or Ed.

Believe it.

Its not a conspiracy theory...its just how this town works.

My jaw dropped when I read this. And yet I'm so not surprised.

As for SEn,
they've renamed it from Saints Entertainment metwork
to
Scared of Eddie Network

Malthouse now has a semi permanent gig on MTR during the off-season to complement his role on SEN during the football season.

Anybody hear his interview with Steve Price this morning?
You know Steve Priece - the angry little man who would name anybody for ratings.
Steve Price who make s Hinch look like John Faine
Did he name the COllingwood players involved?
Did he ask Malthouse anyting about it?
Did he raise teh Rnd 3 fiasco re Mine?

If not, why not?

Interesting (but hardly surprising) that the whole story has already disappeared from the HS website.
No full page interactive slideshows of historical events like we got when the pregnant schoolgirl non-story broke. They ran that story front and centre with our logo for over a week.

So who is this "common knowledge" police? Is there a board that sits daily and lets everybody know what is and what isn't "common knowledge" so media can report so?

I actually thougt the same thing! It's an Eddie-block!

Good to see Collingwood now has a bunch of rapists we can all get stuck into at the games! See how they like the shoe on the other foot!

(Not that I'd stoop to some Filth supporters levels)

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!
