Re: Pick 34 for 2018 2nd rounder
Maybe it has something to do with having to select at least three players at the national draft.
Better to make this year's third selection at 34 and worry about not having a second or third round selection in the 2018 draft next year, than to take the third selection this year in the 40's??

Re: Jason Holmes
Being uncontracted but not delisted at this time of year says the club is keeping its options open for a reason. A reason could be that if another ruck is being floated as a trade option then the club can keep Holmes as backup if it happens or de-list him later if not. With Longer now our number one...

Re: Rowan Marshall rookie pick 10
Interesting that he is being seen as a tall forward rather than a tall defender or ruck. We definitely need a forward pocket who can kick a couple of goals and relieve the number one Ruckman. (just realised that this was actually an old article from November. Maybe he is being developed as a defend...

Re: Saints AGM- Tues 20th Dec
I didn't take notes but here is what I can remember - apologies if I have left out some stuff or attributed comments incorrectly to people. Peter Summers started with the President's report and mentioned: - profit of over $1m for the year, which includes grant funding for the Moorabbin oval redevelo...

Friday First time this prep can I remember them all being out there on the grass. Mind you some just did laps. Hugh's on track putting in the miles and hes happy with the progress. Jack Steele will be in full training mid Jan, doing some fast work around the oval at the moment. Roo was there, not b...

Re: Hawks replace Mitchell/lewis with one pick!!!!
At the draft each club had to make at least 3 selections. As nominated rookies were not called out and the Hawks only had 2 selections named then they must have had a rookie elevation used as their third selection.

A true champion and will be missed.
Had the pleasure of meeting him at one of our Moorabbin family days when he just joined - friendly, hospitable and honest.
Thanks for the memories, Chippa.

Is Dararagh Joyce subject to the Gaelic Athletic Association requirement given he has a background in Hurling? If not will this allow the club to have both Darragh Joyce and Ray Connellan listed as International (Category B rookies)?

Re: What areas will we need to strengthen in 2016?
One area we need is for the next generation of leaders to stand up as contenders to replace Roo as captain. Our other senior group of Montagna, Fisher and Dempster will be also departing in the next season or two and are out of contention for this. From there on our most experienced group is Gilbert...

Re: Bailey Rice?
If a Nominating Club does not have enough points to secure a F/S or Academy selection in a given Draft, the points required will carry over to the Club’s first selection the following year. - In this case, points will be deducted prior to the trade period to ensure the Nominating Club pays it point...

Re: Bailey Rice?
BB apparently the rule is points off equivalent round/pick in the following year. If Rice us taken in round 2 its the same round next year. We have traded that pick so will move tto 3rd round... Where has the AFL indicated that this is the case? Happy to be corrected but wouldn't the points come of...

Re: our picks in 2015 draft.
Sydney... No doubt will be forced to take Mills early in the first round. The picks they have from which they will have to use points, are, 33, 36, 37, 44, 69, 72. These picks are worth a total of 1994 points, That is all those picks combined. Pick 4 is worth 2034, pick 5 is 1878. So you can see if...

Re: our picks in 2015 draft.
Borderbarry - can you explain how our picks 45, 68 and 81 end up as picks 39, 55 and 64? I am guessing in your calculations that Academy / Father-Son selections have forced other clubs to use their picks to gain points due to bids from other clubs, AND this means the picks used for points result in ...

Re: Carlton unlikely to unload Kruezer
Unsure what you mean by 'increase Carlisle's compo pick' - did you mean he will attract a free agent compo pick for Essendon (correct me if I'm wrong but I thought he was just out of contract rather than being a free agent)?

Re: Behind the Guernsey Interviews
I'm sure Hugh will be his own man soon enough at the club.
Interesting that Richardson said on the SEN interview yesterday that he sees Goddard as being 'Cloke size' in future.
He's definitely one we need to come on well over the next couple of years to be a linch pin down back.
