Re: Saints homeward bound!!
Chloe Saltau this morning claims the the Andrews Labour party have promised money to upgrade the Junction for cricket should they win the next election but the Libs proposal to include St Kilda FC in the upgrade could be scrapped. Apparently AFL would receive enough from the initiative by just regai...

Re: Petracca
I spoke with one of Petracca's 2014 coaches this weekend and he's convinced me that we've got plenty to be excited about. Says that he's they type of player who will bring people through the gates just to see him play in a couple of years. Suggested that he rates him in front of Boyd and that we sho...

Re: Rhys Stanley for Pick #21
Interesting that SEN claim Cats aim to play Clark forwards, Blicavs as a back and then groom Stanley as a ruckman - with injury concerns on both McIntosh and Vardy. Don't think we've really viewed him in this light.

Re: Boyd requests trade to Bulldogs - How did we miss this??
We have said we will negotiate a trade if GWS are interested including pick 1 being up for grabs according to Harf time on SEN. Bulldogs might need to offer Griffin and their first pick. Boyd was incredible at TAC level. I watched a game he played in and he is dominant. Great long straight kick and...

Emma Quayle and Jake Niall in today's "Age" include this paragraph in their forecasting of the week's deals" Griffen's departure will give the Dogs a genuine opportunity to secure a second top six draft pick, both of which the club could attempt to send St Kilda's way for pick 1 and a...

Re: Tim membrey
For what it's worth, the Facebook AFL 2014 Off-Season page says this about Membrey: Sydney are contemplating allowing Tim Membry walk to St Kilda via the preseason draft, as they are unsure of how many draft picks they will utilise next month since taking three of its academy players. The Swans hold...

Would love to know Kosi's results in this test.. Very poor result on slightly different test: "In 2006 The Age revealed data from the 2000 AFL draft camp showing the teenaged sensation was well below the average scores for peripheral awareness, reaction time and decision-making. This fo...

Speaking with ex Saints player well connected in Geelong who is very bullish about McCartin. Thinks he's an extremely good prospect.

Re: 2008 - 2010 Drafting Worst in History - News Article
Agree our recruiting during that time was poor but thin it's unfair to lay the whole blame at the feet of the recruiters. Our development of young players in that time left much to be desired. I'm familiar with the family of one player who was recruited in those years who are scathing of Ross Lyon. ...

Re: On the Couch tomorrow
Discussion on Lovett was interesting. Sheahan claimed that the thinking was right; their assessment was that they were very close and needed to inject some outside run. But thought it was a bit rough when they claimed we hadn't done due diligence and suggested all we needed to do was to ask Essendon...

Saints: Lock Up Your Young Stars
Didn't hear the SEN interview but not sad to read that Finnis is putting it out there that we'll aggressively pursue the brightest young stars from the northern states. In an article entitled "We're coming for your uncontracted players" on the AFL website, Finnis is reported as saying that...

Re: Failed: AFL report says of Hawthorn's Tasmanian push
Mind you, the report doesn't say the Tasmanian project has been a failure for Hawthorn; it's clearly been a success for them. It claims that what's failed is any sense that Tasmania as a state has not thrown themselves behind any particular team. The most interesting thing from that article is the p...

Re: VFL Rd 9 Sandringham vs Northern Blues
Saw the game yesterday. Webster class above in his decision making, time and space, disposal. Gwilt next best; appeared to relish playing on a smaller opponent. Holmes rucked well but (haven't seen the stats) can only think of a couple of possessions outside hitouts. Stanley played without passion o...

Re: Joey to the bummers
Would have thought Dons are the least likely team in the comp for us to be trading with. As a result of their draft sanctions, not only have they few/no picks which would interest us, they are unlikely to part with any decent pick they do get access to. They are far more likely to go the other way a...

Re: What actually happened? Lee, Dunny etc?
Lee's stats won't be anything startling but I thought there were some good signs from him. It was the first time I've seen him play as a tall. Previously he's looked to be a rangy half forward. Perhaps it's the weights or the diet but he looked both slimmer and stronger and those two together made h...

I'm putting words in his mouth, but I reckon he hinted that Scott tried to undo the tail wags the dog, but Richo has restored things back to how they were. Think there's some truth in this. The Watters apologists (and perhaps they're right) would say that Lyon had a very intense relationship with t...

Hickey breakout game
I'm calling it midway through the second quarter. Stung by constant media incredulity as to how St Kilda could possibly have let one of the league's "premier ruckmen" go to the Hawks, The Lovebite has turned in a game which we will all remember as the one where he announced himself as one ...
