Surprised they didn't go with the "Saints guilty of a salt scandal" headline.

Maybe it's a typo from supporters concerned about contingency plans in case he steps down.

Lockett's move to Sydney was financed by the AFL
I knew Sydney had the cost of living allowance that gave it the leeway to attract marquee players but I didn't realise that the AFL actually paid for entrenching players into the expansion teams back then, i.e. "AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou yesterday confirmed a precedent existed where ...

Re: Harves or Hayes
On longevity (and the standard he upheld for so long) I think Harves just shades Hayes at the moment. But on character and effort, and as role models for the team I think they can't be separated. They can both look back at their terrific legacies with immense pride. Their humility stands out as a tr...

Re: the other side of football- - Jarryd Allen
I heard the same story about one of the NSW scholarship players today - very disappointing behavior from the club. Injured, identified as not going to make it during the 2 year stint and not supported in the way the club should have. Hopefully things have changed since then but it's clear the club h...

If you look at the Ticketek site they have the options for purchases - looks like most of the cheaper seats are single seat only now.

Re: MRP - Your Preferred Method of Assessing Suspensions
I think the system adopting transparent penalties for most offences works well, as does the carry over points and the early plea discounts. It fails for the more serious offences that should attract more significant suspensions and for when a player is charged for multiple offences in one game (e.g....

Re: My turn to judge footballers on one week only
It's a typical trait of most football pundits, hardly surprising to see it manifest on the Internet when we amateurs share our views. The pejorative nature of the posts towards the whipping boys you mention is something that is something chosen to ignore over time here, the I'll informed comments on...

Re: Boring Wins v Entertaining Losses
Just to clarify I put "boring" and "entertaining" in quotes because that is the perception one gets from this forum. Ross Lyon , the traitor, played boring football gameplans. Scot Watter, the hero, plays entertaining, exciting, high scoring, gameplans. Considering we made top f...

I was too enthused about breaking the drought Your "after dark" life should not be discussed on this forum I reckon. Nor should my ability to use the appropriate form of "to/too/two"! To be honest I'm not sure I'd be that keen to break that drought at Victoria Park, it wasn't on...

Re: Which Laneway ?- Nicky painting
The photo caption says Bender Laneway in Melbourne. google didn't help me find it but another link suggest it's near Franklin St. That was an amazing day. I was too enthused about breaking the drought (and habituated to the Victoria Park racism at the time) that all I noticed was a bit of disgruntle...

If I was a demons supporter, I wouldn't be handling todays call very well. Dennis and Bruce seem very concious of Mick sitting there. Watched it all and it seems to me they are nearly barracking for Melbourne even Mick and that is because they are behind and they want it close. Funny how people hea...
