Re: Changes Round 4
Geez Ross loves Cordy. Brings him up and praises him in every presser when he just talks about hard work whenever a journo sets him up to pump the tires of any other player. Holds his spot after a 1 disposal performance when Campbell had a massive VFL game. Do we have our modern day Zac Dawson?

Re: Pies are well ...beatable .
Not having a ruckman cost them big time. They through everyone into the midfield at times and still couldn't stop the bleeding. If Marshall can dominate and we can stop their run and link up play (similarly to Brisbane) we will be a chance. We don't quite have the forward weapons of Brisbane but if...

Re: Gresham robbed of the Goal of the Year
Say what you will about Gresh but he's making things happen on the footy field, both good and bad. It would be great if he tidied up his disposal but 3 games into the season he's averaging 19.3 disposals, 6 marks, 1.7 goals and 0.7 goals assists per game. If he kept up those numbers all year he'd be...

Re: NAS signed
Great news. He's far from a finished product but has some great attributes to build on. I was concerned about him walking at the end of his contract when we had no bargaining power. Now even if he does want to go home in the next year or so we're in a position to be fairly compensated.

Re: Isaac Keeler
. we will see him very soon, perhaps in a fortnight. Is that is as in playing for Sandy? You would think this to be the most likely path. Or are you implying straight to seniors.... If he starts playing for Sandy in two weeks then he could actually be a sneaky chance to snag some time in the senior...

Re: Sandringham v Essendon VFL
It looks fair enough, considering. But then I notice the HB and C lines: Hill 179cm Sincs 180cm Byrnes 181cm Stocker 184cm Crouch 184cm Josh Battle 193cm ?? Maybe 'ol Coopers Red or Mr Highmore, both 193cm, will factor in the selectors' calculations, just because they have a few inches? It would be...

Re: What the hell is going on with Membury?
I'm guessing that they sent him in for a simple arthroscope and when digging around in there they found more damage than anticipated. Some clearer communication from the club would be great though.

Re: Our team will look vastly different
I too have a feeling that some of the injured players will have a tough time getting back into the team. Without the fitness base that comes from a full pre season and match conditioning I don't think playing our game style would be possible. Obviously some come straight in like King, Steele and Mem...

Given the outstanding games from Bytel and Campbell I'd bring them both in. Great to see that Heath is building but I'd want to see more than one good game before bringing him in. Can't come back soon enough. The young guys are performing admirably but we're at a disadvantage every week - they're pretty easily dealt with in marking contests too often.

Re: Have We (Finally) Run Out Of Bodies?
We can cover the loss of an inside mid. Windy comes into the starting 22, Gresh can play a little more in the middle. Marshall, Wilkie and Howard are the ones we really can't afford to lose.

How often would an early draft pick who is getting plenty of senior opportunity not re-sign this far into their contract if they intend to stay? I'd be surprised if he's at the saints next year

Solid defensively, clean user of the footy and has a real physical presence. Not gifted athletically but his spot is safe for now

The Pou was youngest in his draft year A few cms of growth and another 10kg of muscle   I was a bit worried that he'd be pushed around by AFL level opposition but then seeing him tower over Dal Santo post-match put it into perspective. He's a long way off being the finished product ...

Looked like an absolute gun in the juniors but for whatever reason it hasn't worked out for him at Carlton. Would give him a one year contract to see what a fresh environment could do for him.

Re: Rate Ryan Byrnes’ game!
As many others have said it was his best game by far. Great run and endeavour. Some bad clangers but the good outweighed the bad. He's never played with that kind of purpose and drive which seems like a product of Lyon's clear game plan along with his willingness to forgive skill errors as long as t...

Re: Wanganeen-Milera
Why does he need bulk? He plays as a running back/winger I think he has ability, but he’s clearly not there yet Needs to be able to hold his own in defensive situations even if his primary objective is to provide run from half back. I agree that he was quite a long way off last season but by all re...

Re: Injury updare 21 Feb
Most of the injuries above are not soft tissue. There is an element of luck to it. I dont think we have major injury concerns, the only real issue is they all play the same position. Back stress fractures, foot stress fractures and achilles inflammation/flaring up are signs of a workload being too ...

Re: Hayes now injured
Seems like a few of the players coming back from injury are picking up different injuries - perhaps being pushed too hard and other parts of the body are compensating for the old injury? Marshall is undoubtedly our most important player for season 2023. Campbell, Hayes and Keeler all with interrupte...
