Lions 2004. 54k in, would have been 48k Sainters.
The sound waves pulsing thru the stadium when Schwarze split the sticks was a once in a life time experience.
The roar was incredible.

Stevic then twisted the knife. Is it really 50m from the centre of the ground to 20m out?

Re: Coaching tonight..
Comment 1 of 15. Our kick out strategy. Chip to the back pocket then long down the line or chip to the back pocket then chip to the boundary back flank then long down the line. All week to prepare and that was the plan. Admittedly Ratts had more pressing matters last week.

Rinse. Repeat.
We need to get better. Very disappointing. More of the same excuses after three years in charge.
The guy's taking no responsibility but certainly the p155.

Too many low footy IQ players lead by a low footy IQ coach.
Speed of light only surpassed by the speed of Ratts getting pen to paper when the contract was presented.
Say what you want Ratts the luckiest man alive and should donate to Curnow's fav charity.

Not one to discuss umpiring, but that quarter was a disgrace.
Could mention about 10. Logue's front on contact against King. What the hell. It's been a free for 125 years. Just not tonight.

Re: IF The Board Re-sign Ratten They Should Go
Pea heart here. Love the Saints winning. Nothing pleases me more. Hence the frustration with the game style when we lose. Q1 was what I was wanting to see for 4 weeks. Ratts put in game plan that should have put us 4 up at the break. Coaching is about wins and playing finals. Hopefully Ratts is work...

Re: Frees for and against.
Both inside mids Crouch and especially Jones get tackled, hold the ball in and create the stoppage.
Sam Walsh, Selwood, Shuey, Ginnivan, ... (You can fill in another six repeat offenders) drop their shoulders on impact and get the head high.
That's 10 frees a game for the taking if we want to cheat.

Re: Saints v Bluescum Team Line Ups + Ins & Outs
Selection comments typically are only relevant after the game is over. If we win.... genius. If we lose... Sharman, Paton,Butler grrrrrr. Ratts needs to win so looks like he's picking a side he can trust to play the same style as R3/4. Another loss and the blowtorch (and grrrrrs) gets raised to 9. T...

Howard plays McKay probably 5.
Howard dropped, Fanning nervous.
Crazy talk him getting hooked.

Re: Bye bye Ratten!
We'll find out Friday night if he's the right man. Hopefully he spent yesterday with the coaches watching replays of Blues last three wins and last three losses and worked them out. Looking forward to Friday. Hopefully he instructs faster ball movement. To save his career. Sainters by 40. Max 15 gra...

Seems to have lost a couple yards in pace since the injury.
Disposal by foot has been very ordinary. Hands over eyes stuff.
Might be why he rarely plays on.
Not (yet) what he showed in 2020.

Re: Shaman , have to keep playing him.
Imagine playing in our forward line last night. More room in a peak hour train after two cancellations.
Shown to me has footy IQ.
No chance for top 8 so why drop?
With Ryder back I'd be hooking Butler or Jones before Sharman.

Re: Illogical to sack the coach
Why is it that we're forced to bomb long? Why last night we won hit outs 45-22 but only +3 on clearances? Why 44 inside 50s for 4 goals? Why have a game style where we kick to Ross, Crouch, Paton or Sinclair on a back flank who don't have a run past, don't play on and are forced to down the line or ...

Before last night our defence was ranked #3.
All season Howard, Battle, Wilkie, Webster (jury out on Patton) have stood up most probably due to a shroud line coach.
This group were not the problem last night.

Re: Time to call Clarkson Saints!!!
I'm no genius. Watched a million games of footy, love it, love watching the top sides play each week. You see each teams ball movement style, how players are structured with and without ball and F50 space creation ... blah blah. You get it. Again last night as with most of the season - 15 minute spu...

Not a Gresh bag post.
Get the footy, looks up and hasn't a clue what is the coaching plan to do next.
A teaching tactical coach will improve him, and like a rising tide lift all boats.
