we lost the first 4 in '97, got roasted in the media, heart to heart with Alves during the week, made the GF, wouldda won with football's biggest twat P Everitt playing. Never underestimate the ability for a roasting from the public, some embarrassing performances, and coach's preparedness to axe th...

"The argument that Scarlett ran off Gehrig is BS, no Gehrig and Scarlett would have been running off Kosi. Its how he plays." couldn't agree more... there's too many 12 year olds on this forum talking about 'the game's changed' - because that's what they read - they read their opinion of t...

G did some nice work for Casey last week - set up 4 goals, created a target. Part of forward pressure is bringing the ball to ground and he does that well. Plus, he has kicked goals this year. The HeraldSun says G is out of form (because he was dropped) and people just believe it and take it for gra...

SAINT VICTORY HEADLINE ODDS

What odds will anyone give me on a hundred bucks if the saints win and G plays well that at least one newspaper headline will read 'G-Train Back On Track' ?

such a shame... i took a high school bus full of 85,000 bratty, snotty kids to the football and i was f**kin' pissed with the bastard for not signing the autographs the kids asked for - he should have been flattered we asked him at all given he was just dropped to the 2's, career on the line, and ha...

Those of us calling for Blake and or L Fisher to be omitted and to see a commitment to attacking football should all be please about the Gardiner, G, Schneider IN and Rix, Blake, Fisher OUT selections, and applaud the match committee for taking these tough decisions in the name of playing to win and...

yes, bombing long is rarely a good option. But if there are no good options, and heavy traffic at HB, why not bomb long to touch?

If Dal Santo is getting Tagged. Put Dal Santo as a tagger on their number midfielder, Dal can sacrifice his game, but it frees up one of ours. If Dals tagger goes to the spare man, it frees up Dal. he doesnt have the leg speed to be a tagger IMO....no way do i reckon he could keep side by side with...

Smart positions

Here's a question: If Roo is being double-teamed, why not make HIM the forward line decoy... take 2 defenders away into the pocket? If a creative playmaker (Cornes) is given a tagging role on Dal Santo, why not tag him with Baker? This won't work if Dal's tagger is a genuine 'tagger', but tagging Da...

Yep, positive thoughts: Sam gilbert, although down, met great form last year and represents some brightness for the future As does Armitage this year - he has a real crack and looks likely If Geary, Howard, Allen, Eddy, McEvoy can maybe come on this year, van Rheesen next, our short-term future does...

from what i can see if we do happen to scrape into the finals we'll go straight out unless we show some daring at the selection table and with the game plan and structure. give riewoldt a run on the wing this week against richmond. put blake on richo and give roo the other wing. m. gardiner and mce...

i thought the post was valid, and may or may not prove accurate. St Kilda can panic as it has done in the past, or it can wait too long to act. I'm equally suspicious of Robert Walls - but surely his reputation relies on making good decisions - he wouldn't in other words appoint someone he'd know to...

Re: good one

I love this comment here: 'Grow up and understand the fundamentals of logic.' I can see one kid tellin' this to another in a playground. Or what about the logic of fundamentals? Would that not work better. Dal gets a tag, Cornes gets 33. Not good. So RL needs to use him more creatively. Why not tag...

blake

The reasons people don't like j Blake are to do with his disposal is poor, his decision-making league-worst, he's no physical presence in the ruck, and while he can do a reasonable stopping job on a midfielder, he'll never demolish a player like Baker does. He's, very simply, not good enough. L Fish...

i'm with ya

Been sayin' it for a while:
from tonight's team:
OUT: Rix, C Gardiner, Blake, Dempster, L Fisher, Milne possibly Birss (although he has a bit of mungle in him, which I like)
IN: M Gardiner, Gehrig, Schneider, McEvoy, Allen, Raph/Geary

Keep the faith in Maguire - he'll come good eventually.

yeah, it was a good article, especially for a herald-sun article.
I have an idea - let's complete swap backline and forward line - tonnes of forward pressure then
