Re: Membrey
Two clear examples that Lyin is tanking, IMFHO . Wouldn't be surprised if that's correct and been the plan for quite a while, it is crucial for St Kilda to land the best available midfield talent available in this year's draft. And that's not just the senior coach acting independently, it will be t...

Re: A shout out to the Warriors!
Well said skeptic! Commitment to St Kilda FC requires an enormous amount of stoicism, the ability to withstand extended periods with little or no success. I've often said to family, friends and supporters of other teams that Saints supporters are unique because unlike any other fans we have been awa...

Re: Mid season draft
Majority of draft picks are "pigs in a poke", even more so those taken in the mid year draft. Just look at the numerous players selected in the rookie drafts that go on to have illustrious careers in the AFL, as against early draft picks that turn out to be duds. If reports about Max Hall ...

Re: Team Saints V Melbourne
They know what they're doing. It's all part of the development plan ...anyone questioning the club or the head coach is a Lyon hater. Only some Scollop, only some.... It really depends on the issue that arouses critical discussion. Likewise there are those like myself who support the choice the clu...

Re: Sack Lyon
Someone should convince Lyon to try Max King in defence. Maybe at FB? Starting with a few simulations during training, maybe? Open up the forward line ... and the possibilities. No more bombing it into the F50 as the go-to plan. We need to concentrate on recruiting quality midfielders ... Max King ...

Re: Jon Ralph is a tool.
I didn't find much wrong with that comment tbh, it is a reasonable proposition because St Kilda did over-achieve last year and got many us super excited about the prospects for this year, I tipped them to achieve top 6. In retrospect if we had examined the quality of the list thoroughly and dispassi...

Do we suspect it might be the Chinese Communist Sate? "Sate" originates in Malaysia and Indonesia, best bought from street vendors who carry small charcoal burners plus ingredients - grilled while you wait, on bamboo skewers, with a choice of pork, chicken, lamb, goat or beef and served w...

Re: AFL General Discussion
North must be kicking themselves for not tanking and getting hold of Harley Reid when they had the chance, he looks to me like the best draftee this century, and that includes Chris Judd. Such incredible strength and pace, an absolute game breaker! Great challenge and opportunity for Darcy Wilson fr...

Re: The Blame game
Gone by 2026 - Crouch, Ross, Webster, Campbell, membrey, Wood, You can add Zak Jones to that list "os", maybe Dougal Howard who I expect will be surpassed by Arie Schoenmaker. Question marks also about Matthew Allison, Ryan Byrnes, Brad Hill (same age as Wood) and possibly Jack Hayes, Dan...

Re: Sack Lyon
Lack of talent, youth and experience = skill errors. It's what a hard rebuild looks like. Why is that so hard to understand leading supporters to want a villain to hate? We are well short of the talent and experience required to compete, that is all. It's a rarity for me to be on the same page as m...

Re: saints interested in players already
Apart from Ned Moyle there is also Nick Bryan from Essendon who is languishing in the seconds and racking up some impressive stats. Both are just 22 and only a year older than Max Heath who in Campbell's absence was reported to have had a very good game in Sandringham's close loss to Box Hill. Hard ...

The cynic in me suggests that this is another classic case of a player manager whispering to gullible media that his gun player is slated to go to another team, done entirely to jack up his new salary when his contract is up for renewal. Like the supposed Battle/Windhager BS rumour, meaningless nons...

Rumours, unless their sources are revealed, are nothing more than mischievous speculation to suck in the innocents, absolute nonsense, especially at this time of the year.
Why anyone would post this sort of garbage is beyond my comprehension!

Re: David King and Whateley analysis of what's gone wrong this year
Whilst the buck stops with the senior coach in modern football coaching players and teams involves input from a number of other coaches at the club. I share the view that it's surprising that Robert Harvey is responsible for the forwards as that was not his speciality when he played, in contrast to ...

Re: wallpaper fallen off - cracks exposed
Very good discussion. I felt really flat after watching the telecast of our team losing by 5 points to bottom 4 placed Hawks at Aspley Hornets AFL club with a good mate. It was yet another game where St Kilda never really got going, playing a poor brand of football which was in total contrast to 202...

Re: Is it time to play Pou at HBF
Sending young Phillipou to play in the lower grade is much the same as Marcus Windhager spending time to learn his midfield craft there last year, a move that a lot of supporters could not understand at the time but obviously paid big dividends. Much todo about nothing, he'll turn out fine in the fu...

Why don’t you just come out and say it and stop hiding behind “he could/maybe consider his options” 😂 I think he knows that I’m also not privy to his mental state but you apparently are so fire away! OK, so what do you think is the reason King prefers not to take a set shot for goal from the 50m ar...

Re: King ...out of form or
"Looks like Tarzan but playes like Jane" is appropriate for Max King. In the past 2 games he's played there have been at least 2 occasions when he was positioned to take a set shot from the 50m arc - on each occasion he betrayed his cronic lack of confidence by instead of kicking for goal...

Re: Sandringham V North Melbourne
Once again Arie Schoenmaker is in the top 3 best players for Sandringham, he is unquestionably in the frame to debut in the firsts, sooner rather than later with 96 AF ranking points from 27 disposals including 6 marks. If I were to have a say in selections for next week's game against Hawthorn I wo...

Re: Byrnes, Bonner Not up to it..
Agree with assessment of Byrnes as not in best 23.
However Riley Bonner is to my mind going strong.
Since he started in round 1, Bonner has racked up the following disposals: 28,17, 32, 24, 20,22, 22, 24, an average of 23.6 per game.
Right now well deserving of his place in the team.

The losses by small margins masks the issues - we struggle to score I like Harvey but don’t think he’s a forward coach I watched fumbles, overrun the ball, dropped chest marks last night….thats not game plan Seb Ross 9 possessions at HT ….thats not game plan Smashed in tackles ….not game plan Hill ...

So what's the def of boring? Clearly not close exciting finishes according to Scotty boy (who is he?). Ross must have embarrassed him in public. Who starts a newspaper story with a snide insult, amateur vindictiveness. Ross has a distinguished record, what's Scott got: a certificate in creative wri...
