Re: Is there a stream ...

Currently watching a stream with commentary in what sounds like an eastern European language. Runs slightly behind radio commentary so putting up with it for the moment.

Money doesn't buy success

An interesting bit of research from Melbourne Uni. The study — AFL team performance and football expenditure — looked at the football department spending and on-field success of AFL clubs between 1994 and 2011. It found that, over recent years, clubs that spent 10 percent above average on their foot...

Re: Koch seems miffed

"Koch has said his club will match any monies offered to Richardson by St Kilda."

So, Port is prepared to pay a Senior Coach salary to keep him as an Assistant. That sounds like a good enough job reference for me. I hope that we are able to get him.

Re: Saints Team Rd 1 v Gold Coast

Jones still getting a gig. Would he of if Joey was playing? I would of expected Leigh to get Gablett otherwise. I watched CJ pretty closely during the NAB and you just have to admire his attack on the ball. He really does get to every contest and even when not directly controlling the ball will pad...

From the club website http://www.saints.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/5315/newsid/145558/default.aspx and reported on the Age website. 'salary cap not an issue' The first year coach also stated that captaincy would not be offered as an incentive for the star midfielder to stay, despite being him bei...

Re: Judd - Am I missing something?

No joke at all. Media at its best they should fine Judd at worse. Fair dinkum open your eyes. If you can't realise intent to injure someone is a reportable offense you need to review the rule book. And remember Curly - Judd has history. Not just once prior either. He's a dog that needs serious retr...

Re: Goal umpiring

If Jetta's was a mark then he must have been in the field of play. But he went back between the point and goal posts then ran around the point post to play on. How can that be allowed as play on? I would have thought that, having been out of bounds, he would have to take his mark and then wait until...

Re: Umpires Round

Agree - absolutely pathetic umpiring. At least 2 gifted goals to Cyril, Buddy able to put an arm over Dempster's shoulder as he pushes him out of the way long before the ball gets close to him (about 8 min into final quarter) etc etc. What topped it off for me was the call for a video on Roo's goal ...

I agree. I think that the NAB cup is now well past its use by date. Whereas it may have given teams an opportunity for a good pre-season hit out, it doesn't any more. The idea that a team can test its game plan in the NAB is long gone. Any new game plan ideas are more commonly held in reserve until ...

I am not one to believe in omens or other claptrap, however..... Cycling to work today through Glen Waverley I was swooped on by a magpie. Where are you Noddy?

Channel 10 Melbourne are showing the game (with a 30 min delay).

I will probably drive myself slightly insane by listening to the radio coverage while watching the game in delay. Not as bad as having to watch some time after but still not as good as live coverage.

Pre- season --- all going to plan!

As an eternal optomist I am taking a very different view of this year's 'home and away' series. My thinking goes like this. Each year when it comes to finals, coaches and commentators regularly remind us that it is a whole new ball game. The season is consigned to history. The only influence is a) g...

Cheap seats, but all that was available at 1.10pm.

Glad to be there!

Better sitting than standing (as we did last year) or down at the O'Donnel Gardens big screen (last Sat).

Looking forward to our boys taking up where we left off in the second half!

Go Saints!
