he is a wonderful player even without the benefits that amphetamines provide. increased confidence, endurance, concentration and risk-taking.

But no one in 3 years has tested positive to using on match day. I doubt many if any use on match day. They would after the game but not before because you get suspended for 2 years. sometimes cousins and a few of his mates play like supermen with supreme confidence and almost superhuman endurance....

they are performance enhancing.

yep amphetamines and other stimulants (such as cocaine) are banned worldwide in sports because they are performance-enhancing. That is not true. They are only banned on match day. Other sports apart from the AFL dont even test for them out of competition. which bit isn't true? amphetamines and othe...

good on mick for saying publicly what many on here have been saying for a while.

sort of cheapens the eagles' premiership imo.

if adelaide wins we should play thommo (if he's fit) and give him a good send off. been a great and underrated clubman over many years. if collingwood wins we should play our best team, which, imo, thommo is not in ... but that's only imo. if we attack as we have over the past few weeks we should ea...

for my sins, have been howled down by Torquemada wannabes like Teflon    what a sledge. you're right. we have been too defensive and preoccupied with match-ups and it has probably cost us a crack at the flag this year. i've seen signs over the past fortnight that this is changing, bu...

let's hope we don't try to "top up" with more duds like clarke.

ffs, ts40 (who we offloaded for clarke) would have been better value in the ruck.

who is going to fill gehrig's shoes? good full forwards are hard to find and big blokes like lynch, lockett, gehrig etc can play into their mid-thirties if the hunger is still there.

i think kosi can play full-forward very effectively, but then we need to find another first ruck.

Re: List this, list that....

We were forced to play Goose at FB (a silly move as Lynch doesn't actually use his strength that often so a smaller option would have been better - if we had one!) which left a gaping hole i agree. it was a silly move. goose at his best is an attacking chb, not a lockdown type. he is was he is. don...

Re: List this, list that....

Imagine having 22 Tony Lockett's on your list? Awesome on paper. 22 of the best players to have ever played the game. i could live with that. you'd never lose a game. the ball would never hit the ground except at the opening bounce. nearly every kick would hit its mark. unfortunately there's only o...

i think gilbert would be very good in there. deceptively quick, strong and good evasive skills. also an outstanding tackler. wins most of the one-on-ones in which he is involved. needs work on his kicking on the run, but that will come. he tends to kick a few grubbers. gram? who knows. definitely wo...

Re: Equation we win Adelaide lose we make the 8

i can't believe i'm saying this, but go pies.

let's face it ... if we can't beat richmond we have no place being in the finals. if collingwood wins we should spank richmond.

if results fall that way then we have everything to play for and they nothing

Re: New Look Midfield?

good thinking saintbot. we need more of it otherwise the club becomes predictable and mediocre. i think gilbert definitely and bj possibly. also possibly gram and raphael. riewoldt is too valuable doing what he is doing, though if you wanted him more involved around the ground he could play wing ver...

He isnt the type of guy who will care if he has a send off game. He will play next year if he wants to. Simple as that. you're right. such a humble champion and he's just as likely to say "enough" and walk away if he thinks it is time. would be sad for his legion of fans if it happens tha...
