I'll be interested to see whether he can retain his spot next year, if guys like Jack Steven, Eljay Connors and David Armitage all step up and Steven Baker returns from injury. Also, in the event that a Ben Cousins or (dare I dream), Daniel Kerr arrive at the club, he may find it difficult to retain...

I heard an interesting discussion on 3AW over the weekend invloving Greg Miller. They were discussing recruiting strategies, and in particular the strategy of recruiting the "best player available" rather than recruiting to fill gaps. Miller made sense (I know, I can't believe I am saying ...

If that's not bad enough, I heard a couple of Hawks supporters ring KB this morning to complain that Geelong will have an extra day to prepare for the Grand Final because they play on Saturday night. I'm not sure whether that is arrogance, but it would be great if the Hawthorn players were in the sa...

Wakelin has had nothing but bitterness towards the St.Kilda FC ever since he was delisted. Good ridance as far as I am concerned. His brother was twice the player he was. If he had concentrated on his footy as much as his 'after hours' activities when he was at the Saints, he MIGHT have been half su...

I didn't think Raph was our worst player last week. I had him ahead of his brother, McQualter, Gilbert, Charlie Gardiner and Gwilt just to name a few. Having said that though, I still think that Raph is at his best, a solid VFL player.

will need more that kozi to get kerr. saints would prob have to trade up to get a draft pick (somewhere in top 10) and package that with a few to get kerr. kerr would require at least a top 5 pick late 1st round/early 2nd round pick and one of our regular 22's anything less and we wouldn't be in th...

Agree that Barker needs to be moved on, but in fairness we just don't have that many options for a second forward. The fact that Charlie Gardiner is running around in our forward line shows you where we are as a club. You can't make chocolate out of sh!t.

Ok, I know this will cause some debate, but I for one, would trade Kosi for Kerr. Why? well, when you take the emotion out of it, Kosi really has failed to live up to expectation (outside of a handful of games). He still has the word "potential" looming over his head, and whilst he does, m...

Get ready for some pain.....with one uncompromised draft remaining prior to GC17 and Western Sydney having access to the draft, we are at least 8 good players short of staying in the top 8. For mine, the likes of mcqualter, Birss, C.Jones, Gardiner's (as in both), Gwilt, Howard, Ferguson to name but...

Team selection predictions

OUT: Dempster (injered), Eddy (unlucky but still very raw)

IN: X.Clarke, McQualter(needed for his lock-down ability which will be required for one of Ablett, Bartel and Kelly)

It's would be no more of a gamble than playing X Clarke who hasn't played senior football since round 7.
It's a major risk yes, but on his day he is a match winner....I just don't think Rossy would have the balls to play him.
For me 2 changes this week....OUT: Eddy, Dempster IN: X. Clarke, Gehrig

Another example of loosing a game at the selection table. Charlie Gardiner...what a joke!! And Raph Clarke....how many chances are we going to give this guy. Both not up to it, and both in my opinion to be delisted at seasons end. Armitage and Allen are both examples of young guys who have had their...

If not Ross Lyon....then who?

Who should replace Ross Lyon as coach......????

Dean Laidley (what the guy has managed to do at North with that list and the limited resources he has available is nothing short of amazing. Also, he has passion, something which Ross Lyon hasn't shown a lot of.

Your thoughts, comments?

Are we getting any value from our coaches...??

Ross Lyon - reminds me of Tim Watson, in that the players seem confused with the game plan. I don't think the message is getting through, and maybe it is just too 'scientific' for a bunch of 'footballers' to understand. Maybe he needs to keep it simple. ie, get it, kick it !!!! Stephen Silvagni - I ...

Yes, the forward line on paper looks awsome....BUT midfield depth will still be an issue unless one of Armitage or Howard can step up. We need all of the half back line and midfielders continuously pumping the ball into our forward 50 for the guys mentioned to kick a winning score. Hopefully 2008 wi...

I believe we have an adequate supply of inside type midfielders but need some class on the outside - therefore, I would lean towards rioli as a preference (should he be available). We desperately need someone with blistering pace and that touch of magic which we haven't had for a while (since Winmar...

GT has to learn to shut his mouth. Along with that tool Brian Waldron, they are making comments in the media which are nothing short of embarassing for the St.KFC.

No doubt, we have had no success with our 'recycled' ruckmen, however one thing to keep in mind is that none of these cost us much, and with King, pick 90 is virtually free. If it doesn't work out then we haven't lost much. The alternative was to trade pick # 9 for Cameron Wood, which would have bee...

By the time we get to take our pick in the PSD, there will only be rubbish left. Let's concentrate our efforts on getting maximum value out of the rookie draft - an area which up until last year has been one of underachievement for the St.KFC.
