I agree. Brisbane had 85 tackles today and barely missed a shot at goal. The Saints couldn't hit the side of a barn and weren't as clean with their disposal in general as they have been. And still they managed to win.

These are frightening facts for opposition teams to contemplate.

There are players in the team that would have taken three or four years to clock up nine wins with the Saints.

If all goes well, we have Round 14 to still be able to do that.

The whole thing seems to smack of inverted racism ? Why can't we just celebrate the game and ALL who play it ? Google Marn Grook, mate. If you can't acknowledge the fact that indigenous players deserve their own special place in our national game's history then at least you can give our indigenous ...

Re: not everyones a fan- Main?/

He starts with: the Saints have been bloody lucky this year. and then goes on to: the Sydney Swans had a remarkable injury-free run over the 2005-06 seasons when they made consecutive Grand Finals and, to a certain extent, they were fortunate. One team is bloody lucky and the other is, to a certain ...

Be afraid, be very afraid 8-) Seriously though, the result will not pre-determine our lot in September. Hawthorn didn't beat Geelong in 2008, didn't seem to impact them on GF day. Actually it works the other way around. Since 2002, the most recent match between the grand finalists has been won by t...

This is what the captain thinks: I think Jimmy Gwilt’s role as well can’t be underestimated. He has been made to really earn his place in the team and I think in the role he is playing for us, he has been really valuable. I had Jimbob down for a vote last night until I remembered Zac and he was ...

I dare you to be the guy who tells half a dozen players they've been 'rested' from a training session at the MCG the week before the finals begin.

To address the OP, I think it's where the conditioning staff earn their money. It's like Dal Santo said a couple of weeks ago, the players leave it all on the ground and come off completely spent. Then it's up to those guys to make sure they're right for the next match.

On the matter of the Saints 'agreeing to the AFL's request' to wear the clash strip (as it was reported on the radio), I wonder what would have happened if the Saints had declined the request. Would the AFL simply turn the request into an instruction?

I must have watched a different game to the posters on this thread. the bombers were good and we were ordinary. Thanks to Geelong the Saints can fly under the radar from the top of the ladder. If everything goes right and we end up 14-0, the papers will be full of articles about Geelong having an off day. Sounds good to me. :)
