Sadly, he's right. Unless all players are forced to wear a helmet, participation rates will drop off dramatically.

Insurance companies will set the time frame.

Paddy needs to retire. The settlement process between him and either us/AFL can still be active

No different to working in a dangerous mine. Players know what they sign up for, must get paid accordingly due to the risky profession. All players will sign wavers absolving afl and clubs of any litigation accociated with concussion.

Less players might want to play but if the money keeps coming in, the afl will just pay players more.

The quality of the umpiring is also killing it.

Isn’t horse racing much more dangerous than any contact sport?

Jeez the prospect of having soccer as the biggest football code is a sad situation- I think I would rather watch concrete dry.

Heading the ball actually does its damage too over the course of a career.

Very dangerous sport...I've seen players writhing in pain and taken from the ground in an ambulance, and that was just from a verbal insult!

At least the EPL is a 38 round season where everyone plays each once at home and once away.

....and best of all, they don’t need to bother with a finals series!

Shame we have to endure such a long off season - I’m jealous of them!

Nah I think the damage is done prior to making the decision to play soccer

I fear you are right.
They will set such high premiums that the sport will disappear at junior levels.
