Not sure what's happened to Hanners.

Newnes IN.

Hannebery has played the past four games, the last two at AFL level, and completed training on Thursday, but was left out as the Saints continue to take a long-term approach with the star on-baller.

“It was always part of the plan that Dan would need a break at some point after an initial block of games, and with a bit of soreness lingering after the Richmond match, it made sense to do it this week,” Head of Performance Matt Hornsby said.

The part of this I’m most disappointed is that Newnes is straight back in.

Would have loved to have seen Langlands or White play a bit more.

A player who's had a string of really poor games goes back for one week to Sandringham before being brought back in?? This after a really poor 2018, as well. The mind boggles. There's a distinct lack of adventure by the selection panel. Surely this was the perfect opportunity to give someone a chance to show what they might bring to AFL level, rather than gifting a game to a guy who's really struggled for 8 weeks in a row

This clubs faith in this coach has become so embarrassing. Repeating the same mistakes over and over. In fact I just thought of a new post.

Another selection farce bringing back Newnes, on top of further confirmation that we are going nowhere. There is going to be a lot more soreness to come for Hannebery. That's what happens when mature aged, broken players are recruited.
Richardson, Finnis and Lethlean have done a lot more damage than good to this club.

What a joke. Or maybe he is following instructions: run around like a headless chook, don't actually tackle anyone, drop sitters and if you do get the ball, lace out an opposition player.

Hammers proving an astute trade.
Well done.
Newnes found the photo he stupidly claimed was irretrievably lost the week before.

It's very disappointing. Would have been a lot more palatable if he didn't play at all this year to be honest. Has been a cluster since it was announced we were interested in him, Sydney wanting cap relief, I'd love to think Sydney were paying for this season but they're not.

Lurched from one bad decision to the next. Who is accountable for these decisions? I really want to hear from our President. Forget the on field & coaching woes. It is the decision makers that need to explain themselves to the Board and the club's supporters.

I'm fed up with Richo doing stupid things like sending Gears to China without VFL.
Keeping Mav in the team last yr then delisting was surely an admission that he'd been wrong.
And now our laziest player gets a slap on the wrist and promoted into seniors.
Pity the poor dudes that work in the VFL hoping for a call-up, then they see #16-Useless leading a charmed life.

As AR sees the writing on the wall getting larger he seems to be getting more bloody minded. Can't be long now.

Trading blunders of last 50 years:
1.Barrott
2.Lovett
3.Freeman
4.Hanaberry (but has potential to rise higher!)

This warrants a thread of its own. Michael Frost springs to mind.

OR we could get Bennell and push Hanaberry down to equal fourth!

Trading away pick 12 in 2012 for Tom Lee (who Bains and Elshaug claimed was a gun forward) was a bad one too.

Lee was at least able to play more than 3 consecutive games, cost less and didn't have "off-field issues"!

That wasn’t the trade.

1000%. I’m so over this. I despise our match committee. Could’ve given Langlands a chance; maybe play B White off a wing. Nah - lets go to good old reliable J Newnes.

Rarely to I want our side not to win. But ... I’m getting so close. I don’t think we’ll win so, something might as well change. Wouldn’t be shattered if Newnes had another single kick game in a solid 140pt drubbing. Then we might get some action to end this almighty sh1tshow,

Newnes. FFS. Where are we at if that’s choice no. 1?

I love the amount of posters on here that have a better knowledge of who should be in and who should be out.
I’m not talking about those who would like to see a particular inclusion, I’m referring to those that truly believe that they know better.
