Frees, for and against

Post: # 1798376Post saynta »

13 for to 21 against.

The maggots tried to gift the game to the AFL's lovechild with three goals from frees.

The only incorrect disposal free I can remember also went against us while two clear indirect disposals by suns players went unrewarded.

We however failed to really sew up the game with three atrocious set shots in the last few minutes, two by White and one by Membrey.

Puzzled by the frees against Marshall in the ruck.

Marshall needs to get separation from the monster rucks, both grab, umpires assume it's the smaller infringing.

That said, with the soft infringements given to rucks, Marshall deserved one at the top of the square in the 2nd quarter in a marking contest. Much more blatant.

Umpire 2 again influential. A wrong free against Marshall in the ruck resulting in another goal to the Suns .His frees now stand at 8-0 to the Suns, including 3 in their
forward 50.

He is always the same against us. I remember an infamous display against us a few years ago when he gave Richmond 9 frees in their forward 50, many controversial.

We didn't get one free from him that day. I have been watching him closely in our games ever since and the pattern has continued."

The difference mainly caused by umpire number 2 (Nick Foot) who is always a problem for us.
I have watched him closely in all our matches since a game at the MCG a few years ago when he awarded Richmond 9 frees in the Richmond forward 50, many of which were quite controversial. On the same day we received not one free from him. That bias has continued every time he umpires us.

Today according to my count he gave the Suns 8 frees and us nil. Several of those were again controversial (eg that free against Marshall at a crucial time) and in the opposition forward 50 resulting in scoring opportunities.

So it is not only the soft ones he pays against us, but the many he doesn't pay to us at all.

Shout out to the umps for getting us over the line with 2 frees straight in front in the last quarter, and for not paying the obvious 50 after the last kick in which would have given the Suns a shot to win the game!

L Fisher must be rubbing off on the rest of them! :)

Don't worry Dud your wish will soon come true.
The Saints are unlikely to make the finals so you will be able to enjoy the off season.

I think you’re thinking of the Billings holding-the-ball one.

Nope it was White, Billing got the mark after we took the advantage and played on. White laid the tackle

Another biased performance where we copped it. The first goal from a free to King was a joke.

Umpiring standards today are below par and using 4 maggots only adds to the inconsistencies.Lets face it there aren't enough of them anywhere near competent to be using that number in the one match.

Of GC first four goals three were clear mistakes from the umpires. Massive leg up.

Dunstan grabbed King just as King took possession and as the ball was knocked free he dragged King to the ground.

That’s a blatant free every day of the week.

King grabbed Dunstans arms and brought him down with him. Umpires have to be better than that.

I’d love to go to a game of footy with you Curly.

I admire your passion and dedication, obsession, hatred whatever you call it toward umpires but surely you are taking the piss when you state that wasn’t a free against Dunstan.
