Lions not easy beats

Post: # 1779060Post WellardSaint »

Lions are currently leading WCE in 3rd qtr by 28 points. If we've pencilled in our Lions game as a win...

I was annoyed we didn't make a play for Lyons...even moreso now. But hey, who knows, maybe he prefers it up there? Would certainly have slotted into our team nicely, but we were looking for a big fish. The Bears practically got him for free too!

As much as I really want us to beat the Lions when we play them I'm ecstatic that they beat the Eagles convincingly . Go Lions :D

The Lions have recruited brilliantly the last few years.

They have a raft of young players with a number who will become real guns and getting players in like Neale as well.

While some clubs talk rebuilds, the Lions have rebuilt. After looking a basket case only a few seasons back they have recently made all the right calls.

The good news is, the Eagles are now easybeats.

Big improvers because they have recruited well.

Got top line kids in and have played them, now getting some rewards.

Raynor, Hipwood, Berry , McCluggage, Andrews,
good ruck in Stefan Martin,
Went and got Neale, Lyons and kept Rich, Zorko

Add to it Rankine and Lukkusias

nice mix

They just won the GF at the MCG a few months ago. So lets not get carried away just yet.

I think they started slow last year too. They actually lost to Sydney in Perth by 5 goals in Rd 1 2018.

BUT

Gee whizz the Lions have some youngsters that look v promising and (unlike us) they have been able to land 2 big fish in Lachie Neale and Charlie Cameron in 2 years.

It all starts at the top, and they have good experienced people and a shrewd coach. I’m still of the opinion recruiting Hodge was one of the smartest decisions in recent years.

Rankine and Lukkusias were drafted by the Suns.

Crazy how under-rated Charlie Cameron is.
Didnt warrant a mention?
Harris Andrews also an absolute star.
