Our database of posts is huge and as a result we may have some extended outages in the next few days.

Hopefully fixed fully by next weekend.

You may then need to reset your time and Forum style.

Hopefully this full overhaul will fix the downtime.

Just a suggestion if the database is full and the site is struggling as a result.
Why don't you completely get rid of the cheer squad forum.
No one has posted in there since 2014. Surely that would help?

its is the size of posts in this forum that is doing the damage on this servers hardware
timeouts error 500 etc

Maybe we could do away with the opposition forum...
I never really saw the harm in posting general AFL and sport topics in the main forum... it’ll bump up the activity in the forum and remove the need of a second forum.

Furthermore, I doubt very much that we really run the risk of losing the overall Saints vibe here

Hey BC - I have ticked the box log me in every time I visit (next to where you put in your password I think - it was so long ago). Now every time I visit - I get logged in - even if I am just refreshing the page.

Yes it also happens to me. Even though I’ve ticked the box to keep me logged in every time, when I try to log in using my IPad I have to go through the whole process of putting in username & password. However, if I log in on my computer (not an Apple) I get in straight away.
So I put it down to an Apple thingy.......... seems to happen on my iPhone also. Is it something to do with the continual Updates Apple does? Then I’m only guessing here, I wouldn’t know, as I’m a computer Luddite!!!
All I know it’s a nuisance as I very rarely use my computer, only my Apple gadgets.

Fellow posters. I would be clearing your browser history and cookies after every time you finish using the internet. Been doing it for 20 years for security reasons. It will mean you have to logon every time but its worth it.

yes from me. i wouldn't worry about it simon, apple peoblem, not website problem - i get it on many sites lately on the ipad.
apple ipad also peeing me off with running the optus streaming - no problems on my sons android phone, but who wants to watch on a little phone. I'd be happy if they made a ps4 app, but instead made one for xbox and apple tv - both with smaller user bases.
