Gresham ( smartest player in the team...how does he convince his coaches that he deserves his spot week after week)
Carlisle ( smart player in that just like Tom Stewart or Mackie before him who hardly have to defend, they somehow look good racking up posessions playing loose in the backline)
Billings ( GPS would be good, his efforts and his pressure are good - although he can't stick most tackles - and most importantly he is smart by kicking at least one goal when the game is done and dusted and there's no pressure or clutch goals required from him)
Newnes ( out of form due to concussion and yet convinces the coach to slip him back into the seniors after a week off. Newnes makes sure he is careful not to put his head over the footy or try and win it at times. His tap ons were Cyril like - except that Cyril doesn't tap it into the arms of the opposition)
Seb Ross ( another very smart player, who makes sure most weeks he stays as the second best mid in the side so he doesn't cop the tag the week after. His non-efforts are unforgiveable. I wonder if it was Steele who put his hand up at the mid week team meeting when they asked who would tag Mitchell instead of the coaches just telling Sebby; " it's your job son" )

I mean fair dinkum, I should be hanging it on the coaches not the players. The other thing I see out on the footy field at times is that we don't share goal scoring opportunities. Gresham is the worst offender. He has to be dropped next week.

If they’re your best players from last night, you’re a worse judge than me.

If you just want to take a potshot at certain players, there are plenty of threads for that.

What is the criteria for best players? Not being smart, just wondering. Because most of the above had a decent amount of possessions, but their disposal was shocking. I can't put them in my top five except for Carlisle.
