Recap of previous predictions for 2018

Can Richo coach?
as I suspected, No

Ruck solution?
No one stepped up so we need a new one. Longer or Hickey have to go. pick 1

Dunstan, Newnes, Acres, Webster and Savage?
Dunstan average
Newnes crap
Acres. played out of position
Webster. called it, break out year.
Savage. struggled this year for his spot as expected

Mav Weller and Tom Hickey?
Mav. No excuses this year trade him to Gold coast if possible
Hickey. Crap (but so was Longer)

Can Paddy and Freeman overcome their persistent injury concern
Paddy - underwhelming. Try playing him up back or trade him to Geelong
Freeman -delisted but well done on getting to play AFL

Fringe players
Ben Long. good year and would have gotten better except for injury
Nick Coffield. touch disappointing only due to unfair expectations

Is it the end for
Minchington Gone --(no news yet)
Wright very likely - GONE
Pierce Gone--(no news yet)
Goddard Unlikely but he needs to get faster and improve turning circle -GONE
Lonie Gone thank F@#K - (No news yet but also no contract either)
Dmac Gone--(no news yet)

8-14 on the table. I got this wrong big time

It could have been worse...
We were unsettled by injures to many of our players, including to players important to structure -- and the players that were coming back from injury (like Acres, Long, etc..) couldn't really hit their straps.
Despite this - our worst loss for the year was 54 points. We did not capitulate like some sides did.

With the recruiting of one or 2 classy midfielders with elite skills and hurt factor, and providing we have some luck with injuries next year - we will turn it around in a big way.

Out of all out rucks, Hickey can take a good mark, passable in ruck contests, and is good at ground level for a tall, Marshall will definitely improve in most areas, Pierce doesn't seem a strong mark, and not that good below his knees, but has good tap potential, Longer has a presence and thats about it. Hickey and Marshall win.

We need speed and class in the midfield. Go get it club.
