She was a rare bird at News Corp - actually shunned the corporate line and suggested Jimmy Hird et al were shonks. It took her a while to get there, but real kudos for considering what was in front of her, and bucking Rupe and Robert Thomson. She had grunt, Ms Wilson, and I dips me lid.

R. Wilson - a pioneer for women in the 'blokey domain' of sports journalism.
A woman comfortable in her own skin. Able and confident to mix it with the 'jock straps' of her profession, through her use of humour and at times superior all-round sports knowledge. Unlike some of the fawning media, she wasn't afraid to take on the 'untouchables' eg James Hird who needed a more critical analysis focussed on him.
R.Wilson, she truly contributed, sadly it ended too soon.
