North have got their imports humming along.
Being defensively brittle and is their main weakness. Improve there and then they are a real chance this year. Waite has been re-invented and has added a forward pressure aspect to his game that he never had before. That and great consisrtency which he has always lacked.



Suns were rubbish today and Cats often beat up teams at KP.
They have a very easy draw this year and will make finals easily. Not sure they are good enough to make it to the big dance. But yes big dance is wide open this year. GWS may well gain the consistency they need to go all the way. Swans are humming along after adding some very talented new blood.

The Crows are certainly up and about as well.

Sydney and Geelong have been good.
I still think when Gibson, Hodge, Mitchell and Burgoyne all go the Hawks are going to come back to earth with a thud.
Then when Roughead and Lewis go after that they are going to be very ordinary. Absolutely no way will they be able to stay up for another decade.

Beneficiaries of an extended stay at the top as the introduction of Gold Coast and GWS denied other clubs the cream of 3 to 4 years of top end talent as part of their re-build and clubs who were on the cusp glean even worse impact because they couldn't find the last few pieces of the puzzle to become genuine premiership threats. The two new teams delayed our rebuild too.

Sydney got lucky with MIlls and Heeney but when was the last time Geelong had a top 5 draft pick? Cockatoo was pick 10 and Dangerfield 9 but that is it. No high picks in over a decade.

Watched the GWS v Cats game. I believe Geelong are really susceptible to teams with midfield and outside leg speed. They will play finals but dont see them as GF contenders...

Tired of being jealous of all the other clubs. Yes, all the other clubs, because they have all been more successful than us (even the ones who are yet to win a premiership).

It's not worth it. If we continue to do this, we may as well organise a great big Miserabilist Footy Marathon, where we can all get together and watch the 1971, 1997, 2009 and 2010 GFs over some cries and wah-bugers and eat big bowls of Prozac ice cream for dessert.

Seriously, the future is starting to look bright. It's a far brighter picture than gazing into Nostradamus' telescope pointed at Geelong!
