I'm sure it was...

We keep up this attitude and inclusiveness, and we will go from strength to strength.

It's not complicated, glad something's clicked.

And what a great kid he is too. Was quite happy to be doing it, and to chat away.

Good on the club...I mentioned in the AGM thread about having the opportunity to talk with the players as a good example of inclusiveness also.
Let's have more of it.

I did a roll over renew and didn't get my name on the list, didn't get a free jumper, didn't get a call, didn't get a cake and when we changed our membership from an individual to a family membership they lost all my past details and made me a bronze member again. I don't want anything but to not have that apartheid sticker on my fricken work car. They told me they didn't care and I would have to provide proof and send it to them for review. I have some old membership cards in the attic from the 90s when I thought that kind of s*** might be collectable one day but I didn't think I would need them again -although I have started keeping them again so I can do a sacrificial burn in front of them. Anyway I hate the membership department so would quite possibly defecate on their jam roll and ask them to deliver it back to the lady who answers phones there.

Clearly Susan Day are our new sponsors.

This iniative costs all of a hundred odd bucks in fuel - the players time is work time, and if I was at home I'd be stoked if ANY player turned up - even the ones I don't rate and even though the cakes are rubbish!

It's the thought that counts eh?!

My kids have been out with Aunty down in Port Melbourne, the membership team pulled a cake out for them. They asked if they were Saints supporters down on Bay Street and when they said yes they got a brown paper bag full of dodgy cake. Hasn't stopped me eating half of it though. When they said we were members they told them they might come to our house still. Got them pretty excited, my boy only wants Jack Steven or Rooey though apparently.

It's a great initiative by the club and players.
Everyone wants to feel included and part of the club !
I do think however they are preaching to the converted.
Peter Summers did mention that Saints members are some of the most loyal.
How about rocking up to the door of long lost members and dropping off the sponge ?

The members we have currently are the rusted on ones. We need the other 10k+ or more of "swinging" voters :D

My kids got a cake in Port Melbourne where they were jumping potential and existing supporters on the street. I guess it's to try to get them on board too. They were telling them that the players would come out to see them.

I think you mean Chris Oliver and Jamie Lamb. You're obviously important, they really rolled out the big guns for you.
