"FORMER St Kilda coach Grant Thomas said the AFL had been out to get Steven Baker since 2006.
Thomas said the match review panel was guilty of "gross inconsistency", with one rule for the stars and another for perceived trouble-makers."
.......ARE WE SURPRISED............NO

I'm afraid that the poll indicates what I've found in talking to fans of other clubs, even reasonable ones: Baker is widely seen as a nasty, sniping thug with little to offer football-wise.
A bit like how many on here perceived the Scott brothers.
Personally, I really like tough, uncompromising players like Bakes and the Scotts. Or Vandenburg.
But I think I'm in a minority. If Bakes played for another club, most postera on here would hate him too and would be cheering today.

In general these type of polls are flawed.meher baba wrote:I'm afraid that the poll indicates what I've found in talking to fans of other clubs, even reasonable ones: Baker is widely seen as a nasty, sniping thug with little to offer football-wise.

Most vote along party lines..........the team they support or not support.
and not the actual issue...........would vote differently if it involved their player........................flawed

It is really funny how taggers are viewed. You hate them on your best because they are seen as second rate players who are surviving as parasites. When we played collingwood the pies were hitting CJ as much as possible and the umpires couldn't find a free kick for him. Yet if a tagger is roughing up a star mid fielder, the umpire usually find a free kick.
Baker won't find many friends but if the opposition taggers were given the same penalty their fans would be really pissed off.
