Gees ARMITAGE is like Stephen POWELL...

Post: # 803114Post WinnersOnly »

Gees David ARMITAGE is like Stephen POWELL. He has very similiar attributes POWELL possessed...

He is good at the in and under stuff , an aggressive tackler, his running style and pace are very similiar, he always looks knackered but keeps battling on, he is a left foot kick which he occasionally sprays and even their kicking actions are similiar.

It's uncanny how recruiters see the same attributes in players they have recruited in the past. The only problem is the game is considerably faster than when POWELL was playing, but if ARMITAGE can have a similiar career to POWELL the SAINTS will be happy!

I'll be thrilled if you are right- I'm pleased that Ross Lyon has really made him earn his selection, it seems to be paying off now.

He's got a better foot on him than Powell , but can be wayward still

Better kick and quicker than Powell, but I see your point.

I'm pretty confident Armo is much quicker than Powell (no disrespect to Powell).

All the grunt stuff is great, just needs to make quicker decisions so his disposal is better.

I think he has 3 games under his belt this season and is just starting to get used to the pace ,going by his numbers from last sunday I think he deserves to keep his spot but may get pushed out due to Ball and Gearys form in the twos. Have always rated him and i think he has a bit of the x factor about him...usually kicks goals when given the oppurtunity and sets up others well for shots on goal...gives 110% too.

What a tackling gun!

Round 19 - 10
Round 20 - 3
Round 21 - 10

We definately need him in the team come finals time!

Is a goal kicker, and wins the contested ball!!!

Powell was much tougher, he was seriously hard....

I like Armo, but I think his possession count is down and tackle count up because he waits for the opp to get the ball first and then tackles, he needs some coaching from Lenny as to when to get the thing and when to tackle.

Reminded me more of Luke Hodge than Powell but can see it now that you mention it.

Can't see it. Better kick. Nowhere near the mongrel.

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.
