Just having a brouse through the AFL website when i came across this absolute corker..

Obviously Goodes is as dopey as he looks, or maybe due to Nicky also having the name Elvis, Goodes thought he's American.
Surely an oversight.... :?

Goodes obviously has a very thick skull, full of bone but with very little grey matter.

What a deadset idiot he is not to include the great Nicky Winmar.

And how pathetic is it of the AFL to allow such a stupid article without the great Cuz in the side!

I had to laugh with his inclusion of Winston Abraham!!!

Aside from the horrendous choices and glaring omissions, his descriptions are composed of one hakneyed cliche after another. Pathetic that they'd even publish it. It is just players he's played against with the exception of Polly Farmer, about whom he obviously knows nothing but felt obliged to include. Imagine describing the great man with today's jargon: "Fantastic at hit outs to advantage." Goodes thinks and writes like he looks--not good at all.

He doesn't include himself in it either.

Am I correct that all players listed have played in an AFL/VFL Premiership team?

That might be one of his unwritten criteria?
If so, it might explain why Nicky is left out, but not Cable Krakauers, Maurice Rioli.

Winmarvellous' team is miles better. Goodes must be on drugs, for that was a terrible, terrible choice of teams! A mate sent me the link to that a few days ago - he couldn't believe what an idiot Goodes must be.

2009 and 2010 were 2 of the 5 best years ever by the St.Kilda FC.

Back then not all games were televised, so we played many games were there were no broadcast cameras, or maybe one on the wing for highlights. Winmar is my favourite player of all time by a country mile, saw him do so many amazing things that no-one but those at the ground wll ever be aware of...

Yes, it is a shame. Might be worth ripping some of the old videos I have to .avi files. Videos like "The Year Of The Rising Saint" from 1991 and then also some of those videos when they referred to us as the Southern Saints on the cover!

There is footage of a mark Winmar took against Essendon early in his career on one of them that was just about the best mark I have ever seen. Gee he could just do the sublime our Nicky.
