no brainer - IF Gram is out in Raph!

But Gram is very tough - he overcomes injury quickly - has done before a few times and got up the following week.

Gram has a long history of not training and still playing.

4 days to go, I would be surprised if he misses.

First draft of the team has to be in by 5.30pm tomorrow.

Nah. For mine, if Gram is out then Eddy to come in.

One of the problems against the Bombers was that we often seemed to lack a player in the midfield making himself available in space for our backmen to kick to. Raph would be no good at this. It's the role of a superfit midfield runner - i.e. Eddy.

Ray's already playing up on the wing. He usually lines up opposite Gram. In the last month Ray's had 17 inside 50s and 4 rebound 50s - which hardly indicates a lot of time spent in the backline. The back-6 as it stands right now is Baker (0 i50, 9 r50 in the last month), Blake (1, 5), Dawson (1, 11), Fisher (6, 14), Gilbert (6, 11) and Goddard (8, 18). Goddard would be the obvious one to move into the middle if we brought in Raph or Hudghton.

If Gram does miss, my guess would be Armo straight in for Gram. But we have a lot of flexibility, so there are plenty of options.

If Gram is out, I would think that with their tall marking forwards in Brown and Bradshaw in good form, Raph is the logical choice to come in as a third man up and allow some1 like a Fisher or Goddard to play permenant midfield

i love it.
you can almost put the grammy bomb on a stopwatch.
grammy is like a pinch of salt in a good bolognaise sauce. everything is simmering away nicely and you think it's done, then
....OH NO - it's grammy time!

"what time is it?"
"....IT'S GRAMMY TIME!"

Thankfully Mcqualter doesn't deserve to be dropped, and won't be dropped.

I was thinking Bakes might get dropped for Maguire. Much as I love him, he hasn't been super-productive recently. Much of what he does could be done by Maguire but Maguire can take on the big forwards too. Or can become a big forward himself, leaving Gwilt to take over some of Baker's duties.
Any thoughts?
