Sneider...

Post: # 737113Post Teflon »

Just so great to see a player brough to the club and add to the team so much.

I was interested to hear Buckley say tonight how much Sneiders fwd defensive pressure was admired at Swans and how Lyon knew that and wanted to add it at st kilda. I think its fair to say its enormously helped Milne also.

I said some time ago when posters like Mehebableon were bagging Sneider - check out his goal assists, his blocking, his 1% cause hes definately added to our fwd structure.

I suspect Tudor is also a great get.

very happy at present.

Milnes always played better with another small forward accompanying him.

Tonight is what I dreamt of when we recruited Schneids back in 07...

Hoping to see more of it!

He was great tonight. Noticed at one of stoppages Schneids' socks were down & you could see a Swans tattoo.
God I hope he can add another Premiership Tat to his ankle come September.

He's not my favorite player, but there's osomething so dangerous about him.

Everytime he's about to have a shot, u just know.

Starting to have some consistency in his game

He's always had a knack for popping up and inflicting pain... I have a good feeling about him and the business end of the season.

Great to see our two crumbing forwards firing simultaneously.
Without getting in each others way.

And the Schneiderman is a great reliable kick under pressure.

We are only seeing now what happens when you recruit class...Shneider is a Premiership player and has only started to feel comfortable in the side and most importantly feel comfortable and confident in his body......when a class player is fully fit and able to produce the game that he himself knows he is capable of then things happen. He will only get better ! When the swans were flying high Shneider was one of the best small forwards in the comp....Dont forget he cost us a place in a GF....Now he is repaying the faith that his assistant coach at Sydney (RL) had in him. His skills are first class and tonight he showed that when his work rate is up he makes things happen....He kicked 5 himself and set up another 3. As i said he will get better as will the TEAM. Pity the Woods didnt give us more of a gauge as to where we are really at but good to see hat we ran the game out and didnt let them score a few junk time goals....Keep it up boys....One week at a time ! !

Just watching the replay...

Leigh Matthews on Schneider on the last quarter:

"It is hard to believe that this player is not the most influential player on the ground".

Think he was talking about Roo - the camera was on Schneider

Bit more work learning to spell our players names and a bit less time dreaming up childish nicknames for other posters I reckon

Funnily two weeks ago there was a mass of posters on this site singing the same chorus with Schneider to be dropped....

8 in two weeks.

I think that was a payback for the one previous that Jones gifted to him. Beautiful in and under in the square, won the ball and handballed it to Schnides for a goal.

I'm sorry, you've gone through all the trouble to find out what this actually says and it really is quite insignificant.

Extremely skillful player... up there with Dal and BJ as our most naturally talented...

He uses his body and understated strength perfectly.... he knows exactly when to bump, or work a player under the ball, and when to time his attack...

Gun player.... My only criticism he sometimes gets a little lazy, but those instances are few and far between....

He certainly pops up with goals at the most opportune time. I like him, he seems unruffled in pressure situations...which is a great quality IMO

Good post...was always in our best 22 and not the 'pet' those would have us believe.

He's a vital part of our structure, not only is he an excellent kick for goal, the pressure he supplies as well as his hit ups on the wing take some of the load off our rotating mids. Very reliable, even if getting beaten he will not drop his head.

White men can jump too.

Seems that most clubs are desperately looking for small crumbing forwards who can tackle as well.
They are all chasing after indigenous players because they make running and weaving look so effortless.
And they look exciting to watch.

But they should also look at the best two in the business, Milne and Schneider deliver the goals, tackles and contested ball.

Clubs need to forget their stereotypes and go after the best there is even if they are not indigenous.
