what if its a screw-top lid with plenty of thread?

No real harm in just loosening it a little after 5 great wins and some kind of record going back to !915 or whatever
Nothing is going to spill out and the internal pressure comes off inside especially if any heat is applied
By unscrewing it off the extremely tight seal we can feel a little in control and more importantly enjoy the momentand the great ride week by week as we watch the side grow in stature ,skill and confidence as they play as as a team

There is no lid!

There is only "so far so good", and we pray to the footy gods that we hit September in good shape.

Lid shmid.

As far as I am concerned Felix there will never be a lid anymore.

On SEN a while ago an opposition supporter commented that Saints supporters did not know how to enjoy a win or the fact that we have a good team. I thought how true. We worry about the lid being off but as supporters we deserve the opportunity to live it up. If this is the year then I want to savour every moment and if it isn't, it does not matter as I will be there the year after and the year after that.

This team is not just built on confidence and running forward of the ball as in 2004. That was nearly the right recipe but the years that followed showed that it was not quite right, either through luck or other intagible influences.

This team is not structured that way.

So from now on a win is a win and for me the lid is off and boy am I enjoying it even if it only lasts one more week or hopefully the rest of the season.

Wal

lid was coming off before this afternoon. Then geelong stamped it back on. Apparently it was wet down at skilled stadium. Their skills are so far in front of anyone at the moment its ridiculous. Then with the game gone my hopes for a milne goal of the year were smashed, bloody ablett. We got a long way to go, still need loads of improvement

Yes, watching the Kicks of the Round on AFL site Milney's was overshadowed by Rooke's. Same trick goal but further out.

Oh well we have 17 weeks to go.

I wasn't at skilled stadium, but I can confirm that it was very wet here in Geelong. Very windy too.
We need to maintain a healthy respect for Geelong. One good thing for us is that we don't have to meet them here at Kardinia Park. It really is a fortress for them.

well if it wasnt for brown, selwood and hawkins sliding about 7 metres after hitting the ground in the first quarter, you would swear geelong were playing in the dome. I cant stand them, and i hope ross has some goos plans to put into effect

I'm usually one of the first to suggest the usual, that we keep the lid screwed on tight and we take it one week at a time, etc, and I still do even as I type this post.

However, just because the lid is on doesn't mean I can't still enjoy the moment. I'm beside myself, things haven't been this good for so long and moments like this need to be appreciated. I'm still taking it one week at a time, but so far it's been a fun ride.

Supporters and the majority of the current playing group have witnessed at first hand the pain of over-hype that fails to deliver. But while we're winning matches media hype will always be there. Can't help that, let's just not get ourselves as carried away as they are.

But, like I said, still enjoy the moment, because it's a darn good moment! :D

Until we have an administration that demands success and a playing group that bleeds for the guernsey, St. Kilda will just be a sh*tty football club.

mines gone

not for 'expecting' a flag

but knowing that each week we are gunna have a red hot go

if we lose a few ....who gives a rats

having a red hot go leads to skill levels, confidence , momentum , belief in each other and luck ramping up (naturally) , further solidifing 'that winning feeling'.....all from simply having a red hot go...........theres a free 10% improvement waiting to be picked up in just that equation

we need our players to to know and then believe that they are good enough

surely then , its our duty to know and believe as well
:)

grow some balls , have a go

we're having a red hot go ...we'll lose a few ...who gives a **** ....lets just cop it on the chin if we lose one of the 'wrong ones' ....as long as we have a red hot go ....coz we'll win em in the end

Don't know about you, but in my life I have found few things more stressful than watching the saints live. Even if we were ten goals up at 3/4 time there was always the feeling that it was not enough.

This year is different. I have watched all games live (or at least not checking results or progress scores on the internet) and have even managed not to shout at the kids. There is something different about this group. They are a professional group and inspire confidence that whatever the situation they have a belief that they can win. The type of belief held by Shane Warne and the Australian cricket team for many years.

I am not putting money on a flag, just enjoying the ride.

Regards to all
