Problem is, our first three home games have been against interstate sides, and now we are on a serious roll, the next 3 games are away games.

Next home game is 4 weeks away against Essendon.

The draw this year has already proven to be financially raping our club.

I dare say we actually asked for that.

A draw that helps us be the best as possible on-field, at the expense of face value revenue, in the hope that doing well will create a better financial situation in itself.

I'm pretty sure the club didn't ask for 5 twilight games

but I worked it out- you can all start saving for next year now
adult membership 11 game - $170 per year
- $15.45 per month (11 month plan- calender month I assume)
- $ 7.75 per pay day ( fortnight)
- $ 3. 90 per week--- On cup of coffee

interstate/ country membership - $108
- $9.55 ( 11 mth plan)
-> $4.00 per fortnight ( payday)
- ~ $2.00 per week

If you can't that's ok- But planning for it's good too.

B.F jnr and I only signed up this week....I usually wait 'til 3-4 weeks into the season.
Not because of laziness; but because I see the panic every December-March on here about; "Where's my membership pack??"

So I just wait for all that to settle, call the membership dept. and enjoy a hassle- free sign-up (and only a week's wait for our membership packs). :D

Is the Round 9 match vs the Brions a Twilight game??
That's our pilgrimage game this season. CAN'T WAIT!! :D

You forgot to include finals tickets and those GRAND FINALS TICKETS ARE GOING TO BE EXPENSIVE.

I should put the proviso up that Financial institutions do- " all figures need to be checked by your personal Financial advisor" :)
ace wrote:

didn't include social club- which leads to easier access to G/f ace
or you can save up for the $1,800 function based tickets. ( $36 per week + membership)

another $120
and then registration fee $10 - or was it $5 last year- wasn't much

and the cost of a ticket which is unknown even when you register- but anything from $200 Upwards so would be up to $400
roughly $8 per week - being a total of $10 per week -$40 per month on a 4 week month.

BUT

the basis for this post was to show that it can be reasonable to support the club-- the extras would take more.

PS don't you spit chips when people who ' never got to football' say oh my dad got me or I was given ........ G/ f tickets  .

I'm thinking about upgrading my membership this year. I always get the 11 game membership but end up going to the Melbourne away games anyway.

Can anyone suggest an upgrade? Should I go for the 18 game membership? Or considering our form, should I have a look at the social club? Maybe an allocated seat..

What is better for the club? What is better for the member?

go the 18 game and social club

you get to side on level 1, go with a group and get great seats. Also have the chance to get a grand final ticket. All the money from the social club part goes straight to the club

Thanks for the suggestions.

They should do social club seats on level 3 in the moorabbin wing. I actually prefer level 3. I reckon you can see the game better from there.

well you can sit almost anywhere on level 3, personally I like being on level 1 and seeing the players close us. I also tend to lose perspective of distance and vision up on level 3. You want them to kick over 8 players because a guy is 50 metres away in the clear.....

I watched the freo game from level one after years of watching from level 3 and I really didn't like it. It felt like watching the game in 2D and I couldn't see what was going on when the ball was at the other end.

The atmosphere is great on the moorabbin wing. :D

if we ever get to having all of level 1 and 2 taken I guess they will :)

can't go 18 game unless you follow the pies- Try a 16 game
entry to every game in Victoria-

and if you get in now it's still 13 games to go, 8 of them home- $260 - so upgrade will be $90- just less than $20 per game-

For what it's worth, I still haven't got my membership pack - first it was sent to an address from 2 years ago (which is interesting mainly as I didn't have this problem last year...), and then they've run out of stock.

I've been borrowing my young son's scarf, as he's a bit small for it yet...

I look forward to joining all you decked out membership kitted elite types, they've promised it'll be this week!

Same, wouldn't have it any other way now. If it's an away game I'll get one of the free seats on Level 1 or stand.

As long as you're a paid-up member and supporting us it really doesn't matter though.

There are free seats on level 1 for away games????
I didn't know that! Where? How?
We have reserved seats on L1 for home games, and even though our memberships get us into away games I still pay for a seat so I can be on level 1.
