Pick the 22 based on form......and to a certain extent our opposition, conditions etc.

ie when we play the Hawks I definitely want Max on Buddy.

RTB clearly said early we would pick fit footballers. We continue to do so. As the year rolls on we will have available real talent that has not been overtaxed. RTB's ideas are simple, but forward looking. For example, X Clarke won't have to play before about half way. Bewdiful. Let him loose when it counts (and they will let him loose). Raph and Max get to come back at their own pace.

This is genuinely great. Minimal pressure on the top end, maximum encouragement for the lesser end.

Tis called management.

gee i cant wait to rest bj, then chips, then lenny, then joey, the week after dal can have a seat too...
and against the cats we can rest gards.
max can have a rest (he is getting old, bless him :P) when we play the hawks.

only reason i would rest someone is IF they have pulled up sorer than usual and we are playing richmond or melb that week.
apart from that...forget it.

It would have been nice if we had've rested Kosi this week. Oh well.

Ins this week
McEvoy and X. Clarke

Outs

How about week give the entire team a rest.
A rest at the end of round 26.

Try telling that to Kosi's hamstring.

Geelong have won 43 of their last 46 games, how many players do you reckon they have rested in that time??

A more simple and basic truth is at the heart of this discussion. If you rest a player you are saying we are happy with the team and cannot improve on ANY aspect. Do we want this to be the mindset of our warriors? Or are there things we can constantly make better?

You're not trying to say the twinge in Kosi's hammy vindicates your OP?

It partly does. If we take the view that we will rest injury prone players if we keep winning and have a full list to pick from, then yes, I am vindicated. McEvoy could have played against Freo and Kosi could have had the weekend off.

Mmm, not sure resting King when we're up against Brogan and Lade this week makes too much sense...it's not like we need to insult them or fire them up to beat us (they seem fairly good at doing that naturally).

Hopefully we make a statement this week and not the statement: "We're so far up ourselves that we can rest who we like because quite frankly we don't rate you!"
