New names for St Kilda FC!

Post: # 705415Post saintspremiers »

Given our upcoming move to Seaford training base, I think it's about time we move away from the St Kilda Saints...it's had it's day, just as The Junction Oval, Moorabbin, Casey Fields and Elsternwick park have "moved on" in our minds....

So how about we become the "Seaford Saints".

...or something more edgy: "The Belverdere Boyz!"

Discuss....

This is a very stupid idea, why don't we just merge and change everything? You mustn't be a true blue die hard saints fan if you want to change the name of the club, even by just suggesting it? We will be the mighty St. Kilda saints forever!

When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

As if saintspremiers is suggesting to literally change our name, some of you need to lighten up and understand a thread for what its worth.

And for the record I vote to change it to the The Belverdere Boyz! It just has a catchy ring to it!!! Well done sp!

agreed...

They tried it with the Moorabbin Saints years back, and it didn't work.

Really, why bother

5 prelims in 7 years. 40 wins from 49 games.
2009 and 2010 were 2 of the 5 best years ever by the St.Kilda FC.
Thanks for all your efforts Saints.

How about the "Australian Saints"!
That way we can wander the entire country and NEVER have to change the bloody name again!!!!

;) :)

Seriously tho, there might come a day when we drop St.kilda and become simply The Saints FC.
The Seaford Neo-Cons?

Lindsay Fox changed the name to Southern Saints some time ago.

Whatever happened to that?

That worked as well as that IH tractor that came out with the dressing gowns.

Actually, IIRC, it was David Perry as President/Chairman in 1986/1987 who came up with the idea to market ourselves as 'The Southern Saints'. I remember distinctly being at a ore-season gathering where the name, song and promotional video were unveiled.
