Rogen is returning to his stand-up roots for his next film, Funny People, which reunites him with Apatow and also stars his early hero, Adam Sandler.
T HE comedy-drama, which opens here in September, also stars Eric Bana, whom Rogen describes as "the funniest person ever".
Not only does the Australian actor get to retain his native accent, he also gets to prance around in the uniform of his beloved St Kilda Football Club as he tries to explain Aussie football to the baffled Americans.
"Judd just put some cameras on him and said, 'Explain to Seth and Adam what Aussie rules football is'," Rogen says.
"Two hours later he is still jumping around singing, 'Oh when the Saints, go marching in'. It was the craziest thing I have ever seen."
The burly Rogen even played the game himself once.
"I played rugby and I got talked into playing Aussie rules once," he says.
"I had no clue what I was doing."
