Are u suggesting he was P-whipped and went soft?

Or did he get sick of GT popping up in the back seat of his car trying to control everything?

For many reasons, I am really hoping he comes back to his best form.
I think he adds some grunt to the team, and I also have him as an emergency in my supercoach team!

Baker important for structure of team

Post: # 701727Post Megamaguire »

I believe we have missed Bakes in a significant way (ie) TEAM structure. Bakes could always be relied upon for solid tagging; presence and leadership on the field of play. I would regard it as a blessing from the footy gods if he reclaimed his place in the 22.
Bakes and Mags back in '09 sounds greedy but it hasn't been easy seeing Hamill; A. Jones; Gehrig and Harvey move on. I knew i wasn' being that greedy!

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

I spoke to him Sunday morning, said his knee is going great and he cant wait to be out there this weekend "punching people again"!! Thats what he said, i told him to keep them down and he just gave me an evil grin :D . He looked in good nick and would have played if it was home and away.

Followed Saints since '71
Sir Robert Harvey was my favorite player
Stewie Lowe and Plugger before that.
Loved watching Rooey and Jack Steven
Now looking forward to the future

As much as I admire Bakes , I dont think we can expect him to pick up where he left off. Hes been out of competetive footy for a long time & he no spring chicken anymore. He has a heart as big as Pharlap but dont know that it will be enough to see him back to what he once was.

Baker is a class footballer - one of STK's six elite players (Roo, God, Max, Hayes, Fish, Baker) - he'll give a good few more years yet.
