New sponsor?

Post: # 699258Post SideshowMilne »

Good to see the flag flying high above the California Club in St Kilda. New sponsor or just a place for the boys to hang out and get a load off their mind?

No, but show your membership card when you exit and they will return your tip.

What if you misplace your card - does your tip remain inside?

[quote="Saints Media"]The St Kilda Football Club has entered into an advertising and sponsorship agreement with major Australian corporate bookmaker Betezy, an AFL approved betting provider.

Betezy is one of seven sports wagering providers to have signed an information-sharing and financial agreement with the AFL.

Betezy will use its sports and racing site, clubbet.com.au to service St Kilda members and supporters.

St Kilda Football Club CEO Archie Fraser said, “We are delighted to welcome Betezy, the owner and operator of clubbet.com.au, as a new corporate supporter of the Saints. It’s extremely pleasing to secure such a strong commercial outcome for the Club, particularly one over a three year period which gives us a very secure and exciting new partnership.â€

So, we are sponsored by a gaming company that nobody has heard of and the players aren't alloyed to bet, although I've seen many of them wandering into the Moorabbin TAB (especially Harves and Schneids).

Was it not gaming machines that forced the demolition of Moorabbin Oval?

Why arent players allowed to bet? Pretty sure they can bet whenever they like.

are they allowed to bet on matches involving st kilda?

i'd have thought it might be similar to jockeys not being allowed to bet on races in which they are involved.

They cannot bet on any footy games but they can certainly bet on anything else.

I bet none of them make a profit out of their betting.

You've made it into print in today's Sport Confidential section of the Herald Sun.

Quote has been changed a little (ends at hang out) - perhaps to protect the innocent??
