Max to the forward line ?

Post: # 694950Post Longwayfromhome »

I've just consumed my 7th beer and can't help but feel that our 2009 campaign is based on Max leading the defense from FB.
OK. he's probably the best back man of 2008, but he is now in his last year.
RL has spoken about the search for the next Hamill. Put Max down forward and feel the passion once more.
One more before I go to bed.
Cheers.

MAX lost the passion???

what??

Max to the forwardline??? mmmmmmm I understand the defensive pressure would be good bujt is he too old to learn new tricks???

I agree we need something extra in the forward line I have said SAMMY FISHER he can kick, mark and he will put the defensive pressure on.

GWILT also needs to go forward BIG MAN BIG KICK ACCURATE KICK!!!

GET KOSI OUTTA THERE FFS!!! he cant lead he cant kick he is a great mark and the best 197cm player to play AROUND the ground apart from COX!!

Yeah. You got to love the passion. Let him kick a few. Can't be any worse than Kosi or Gardiner.!

That's exactly where Max would be "Longwayfromhome"

I know things can get a little blurry after seven beers (jugs) but surely the goal posts can't move that much.

Relax with Max down back with a few of his Buddies!!

Makes as much sense as our highest rated backman with the most run out of the backline going forward.

I'm hoping they do in fact play Gilbert up forward, now that could be interesting!

Perhaps drunkeness will give our selectors the element of surprise this season! Milne in the ruck, CJ at FF, Kosi on the wing...it'll throw the opposition into complete disarray...brilliant.

Not only can't he kick but I'm not sure he's a great contested mark.

Put Milney on the forward flank boundary line so Max can punch it to him.

The fact that he 'can't kick' is of little concern to me. Neither can any of the forwards we currently place our faith in. (Ok. Maybe Roo is the exception, but he doesn't fill me with confidence the way G or Plugger used to). Kosi, Milne, Schnieder, Allen all toss a coin before they have a set shot for goal. At least Max would have the endeavor and passion to keep the bloody thing locked into the forward fifty.
As for moving the best full back down forward. I see it as no more questionable then posting the best CHF in the comp to the mid field or the best CHB to the forward line.
Max will be gone come 2010. Now is the time for some one else to take over the position. Maybe it will be Gilbert or Dawson or Allen or Goose. I'm not sure. But I am sure about it being time for Max to be excused from the horrendous task of chasing Buddy or Fev or Roughead or Richardson.
Time for a beer guys. Catch you later.
Go Saints

Actually Max takes a really good grab of the footy he just doesn't get to do it all that often. Saw he take a few crackers at AAMI in Adelaide. I was pretty shocked but impressed.
