Improvement in all aspects of a footy club.

Post: # 694936Post Longwayfromhome »

Lots of posts about our recent draft selections and whether they will be good enough to make the grade. But what about those not so new to the game.
Like what King has given to the club in a short period, but can he survive in a game that is getting quicker ? Is Gardiner a better option or do we finally say to Kosi, "This is your gig, make the first ruck your career". Maybe we overlook the lot of ask McEvoy to step up. Go for Kosi. We'll know by July whether he's up to the challenge.
Love the skills that Dal, Joey and Hayes possess, but where are the goals from these silky smooth midfielders? Roo and Milne can't kick the winning scores every week. They need help. What better assistance than a mid fielder that can kick the sherrin 50-60 mts. Bring on Goddard, Gram and some of the talented draft choices.
We can enthuse about the improvements of Clarke, Jones and Gilbert, but where are the foot skills ? Sometimes wonder whether they are capable of hitting the side of a barn with no one on the mark. OK for RL to say that Gilbert is the next FB, but if he can't kick to position, then why bother.
Many posts have made mention of the fact that RL likes to give the draft selections a long apprenticeship in the magoos. Disagree.
If any of these kids show some promise, put them in the firsts and make some of these senior players earn their keep.
