Every dealing Ive had with Ben Hall, the Membership Manager has been efficient and friendly. Regrettably nevertheless, his 2IC Kylie, who was a complete superwoman, is no longer at the Club.

After 23 years, I reckon you'd fully understand that as far as investments go, this club sucks. Pathetic ROI.

Just the occasinal pre-season dividend.

BTW, I believe that membership is outsourced. Any mail comes from a GPO in Melbourne.

I am sure if you contact archie or ben hall by email, and leave a contact number , they will sort it out.
The outsourcing is correct ( most clubs 2 years ago used a centralised company coordinated by the afl.) But benh@saints.com.au or archief@saints.com.au will fix any membership problems I'm sure.

I've got a feeling that Ben Hall is still away on annual leave, which is maybe why some of the queries aren't being handled with the same speed and ease as previously?

Hmm, Ben Hall, second most famous bushranger in Australian history.

Maybe this is why the club are just money grabbing without consultation.

Can someone tell me when memberships are expected to arrive?

toddki76 wrote:What a joke this club is - how simple it is to renew a membership year after year without stuffing it up time after time.

Last year I spent over $1500 on 4 memberships for my family but I am afriad this year it is no more.

Why should I have to put money towards a club that doesn't return my calls after 5 attempts, sent my details to the wrong address and charged my card twice.

I will take my money elsewhere since the club is so pathetic in keeping records on my family even after 23 seasons.
If u have the nouse to get on a forum, it's not a massive step to buying a membership online ffs. Get in the 21st century and save the club a few bucks having to deal with dinosaurs like you.

the same thing will happen like it has been every other year. there will be thousands that dont get their membership and have to line up at Telstra Dome round 1, sometimes for so long they miss part of the first quarter.

it happened to a member of my family  he/she had an adult social club membership that still was not delivered so had to go to the tent and wait, the membership could not be found, and as it was well into the first quarter by this stage there were no free tickets left to get in. the mighty helpful membership team recommended he/she buys a ticket and the membership will be ready for collection next week  ...wow, did they get a blast. then believe it or not they found a spare ticket! :D

how wrong was that line last year dools - FAIR DINKUM!

i was there an hour before the game started and jumped in the line thinking i would be amongst a few dozen people collecting it from the tent having a joke and a laugh, line wasn't moving, then the crowd came --

FAIR DINKUM!

If they do it like that again this year at the tent something will become unpegged!

I remember walking up to LVL 3 and looking down at that line at QTR Time thinking to myself that there was no way it was going to clear before the second half started.

FAIR DINKUM!

That was a POOR effort.

For what it's worth, while I've struggled like everyone else with the snailmail between myself and the club, this year I went down there to do it in person (I was looking at changing the details on 2 of the 4 memberships, taking over the payment for 1 of the 4 memberships as a Xmas present, changing 3 of the memberships to reserved seats, and didn't know all the details on the one I was taking over... and I didn't want to get it wrong) - the girl on the desk (whose name unfortunately I can't recall) was extremely helpful (as was the poster known as saint66au re: reserved seats) in helping me wade through the morass quickly and easily and getting signed up.

While not out of the proverbial woods until I recieve the memberships, I can say that compared to years past, it made it a breeze, and I will quite likely do my renewals in person in the future.

Once given the change to help me, the club fulfilled their part - now it's just the final hurdle of actually recieving what I've purchased :)

often it is over time things get confused ( as I did reading what you had /wanted) and it does sometimes need either a phone call or a visit.
to quietly and calmly work through exactly what is needed.

reminder that anything with a change of any sort required cannot be done online

( I am holding my breath as I asked for change of seats this year :? ) But did it in person.

I can relate to Toddki76. I have also been a member (interstate) for more years than I can remember, but over the last three years, I have had to ring up the membership department each December as I dont get any reminder in the mail to rejoin the club as a member.

So each year I give them all my details, only for it to happen again next year.

Very frustrating indeed, and very unprofessional !

Have been a member for over 10 years. have never had a problem with renewing or being reminded (by both snail mail & email).

Good to see this year that I only got the email & not doubled up with the snail!

Never had a problem until about three years ago. At a guess I've been an interstate member for 17-19 years now. Am wondering if they had a program change a few years ago, but if no one else has experienced the same hassles, maybe there's just the odd glitch every now and again.

I seem to remember that there was a 'problem' with teh membership database a few years back and they 'lost' most of their information?

on the back of this thread, i just emailed ben hall. i reckon it took all of about 10min for a response. he said that the first mail out of memberships will be next week (with mine and my daughters amongst them i hope) this was his reply (ironically my name is ben in case some of you get confused... ben h in fact)

Ben,

I have had your membership details checked and your address has been changed in the system.

We beginning fulfilling our memberships tomorrow if all goes well, I am at the mailhouse tomorrow morning to sign it all off. We are mailing 17,000 packs over the next 4 days so you should receive yours mid next week or so depending on mail.

I hope all is well and the festive season was good to you.

Reagrds,
