I think on the BC issue, they have put footy first.

The guy is a drug addict who obviously has something to hide. Look at his behaviour.

Time bomb waiting to explode.

Sponsors were obviously one part of the equation. The coach also had reservations if you believe the reports. He has a pretty big say on footy issues.

I believe that if Ross wanted BC, he would've got him.

and if we don't have a MAJOR sponsor then we hardly have a club

Seriously is it that hard to understand

With all the talk of a global recession looming can we really afford to lose our MAJOR sponsor

Time will tell

I'm the opposite

I think they were more worried about the repercussions

no matter which way you look at it if Ben cousins had stayed clean for the year

I think we would have been that little bit closer to a premiership

if not claimed one

Correct... no sponsors = no club = footy last.

The board acted responsibly in ensuring the long term survival of the club.

The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

somebody who knows a lot more about the media than us

once said "all publicity is good publicity"

just have a look at how much publicity has been generated in the last week

if that had carried on to the rest of the year

if cousins had stayed clean it would have been all good publicity

I'd rather have a totally clean premiership than a tainted one like West Coast in 2006.

And that's to say that his hammys even stood up to it.

With the benefit of a night sleep, doesn't it seem strange that the Pies research for 6 months, and we research for 5 months and come to the same verdict?

Perhaps it sais something.........things we might not know but if we did....

I am so glad you highlighted / bolded the IF

The board needed to be 120% sure that Cousins wouldn't stuff before they drafted him

Unfortunately 99% doesn't cut it and therefore he was rejected

Jeld Wen only came on after Gardiner had already played one season and and in that first year before they joined he showed himself to be reliable and committed to staying out of trouble - he hasn't put a foot wrong - Cousins on the other hand .....

let us wait for this biography to come out next year before we say it's the worst decision ever.

I feel there's going to be some interesting events outlined in it.

Ah well..at least theres a ready-made excuse for losing games in 09..every game we lose by less than 10 goals CLEARLY would have been won if Cousins had been playing

I find it truly bizarre that some people seem to have more loyalty to Ben Cousins than they do the football club.

It's saying that we are quicker on the uptake than the Pies by about 4 weeks :)
