end of year

Post: # 433147Post toohey31 »

seen as there goin so well why cant watts, voss, armitage, n sweeney get a game in the seniors.

for one i would much rather sweeney than ball hog milne
second armitage will b a gun
thirdly watts is tall and can take a strong mark.

and finally at end of yr i reckon rossy will have a good clean out starting with the 2 clarke bros, rix, blake, harvey n thomo will retire, milne piss him off hes useless, voss might have to go

wat do u guys reckon?

um for one milne aint useless. sweeney has an attitude problem and yes the rest should be given a go. watts deserves a crack definitely as well as ferguson.

Milne is a gun. We need more of those sort of blokes who are willing to take a risk. He snapped 2 or 3 last night? He's doing his job, very well I might add.

Fonz, from what you know, do you believe he will be retained?

damage may already have been done..he is a talent, but i just think it took him too long to realise what a great opportunity he has and it may ultimately cost him.

He doesn't cost the club much financially(as he is on minimum wage) so another year wouldn't hurt since he has been ok at casey but he doesn't look like a player who will be able to cement a spot in our best 22.

Milne must be kept. Had ten touches Sat night, not many of those in the F50 for 2 goals 1 . We need a gme plan to move the ball into F50 faster and give Milne 10 touches in our attacking zone = 5 goals a game. IMO a beter than average crumming forward. If only he could get out of the habit of getting sucked in.

If we're going to build a team for future success, we need to do a lot of changing of personnel and build a new structure. I'll be a little bit blunt, but gone should be Gehrig (2 seasons overdue), Milne (should have been chopped by now), X&R Clarke (over-rated and injury-prone), Harvey (great man, but too old, should have not played on), Thommo (too old, should have not played on), Hamill (probably won't play again unless someone finds a miracle cure for chronic knee damage to a 30 yo), MClarke (past it), LFisher (too one-paced and no good under pressure), Blake (honest performer, but not quite up to it under pressure), Ball (great young leader, but chronic OP has killed his effectiveness and can't quite do the job as a four-quarter player). That will start a few arguments, but hey, a premiership is the objective, not propping up the eight in "close-enough is good enough" performances or persisting with players "who can be match winners on their day" which have plagued this club for years. Be ruthless RL, regardless of how the rest of the season ends up.

Me thinks you're going a bit mad with the axe Spert.
Would definitely keep Milne. Has thirty goals this year and will probably finish with 35 - 40. Well worth keeping.
Gehrig, inconsistent he may be, but he's still our leading goalkicker this year. Definitely not two seasons overdue and should go on next year if fit.
Leigh Fisher, out of form currently but solid and reliable when in form. Not a star but a good depth player.
Harves, Thommo and M. CLarke will probably retire.
Agree with you re Hamill. Wish someone could wave a magic wand and make his contract a year shorter. Will never play again IMO.
Bally, definitely keep. Has battled on and contributed through injury and is still easily in our best 22.
Blake, not sure. Am ambivalent about him.
X and Raph, I just feel bloody frustrated with them. So much promise, so little delivery. Would still give them both another year unless an outstanding trade could be had for them.
