If Sinclair was RTB's "secret herbs and spices" when our questionable midfield was falling short, then I can't see why he shouldn't play there permanently if we have othersn to assist NWM in the rebounding half-back role.

With Sinclair, Dow, Owens, a fit Steele and others in the midfield, it will be a very different (and presumabkly improved) St K side in 2024.

Because we have a number of inside mids

Steele, Crouch, Ross, Clark, Owens, Windhager, Jones

HB is where you generate run from d50

Sinclair is perhaps our most important player

But you should guarantee having a selection in the fist round

Unfortunately we had plenty of picks in the right range to get it right, but we didn't. The rest doesn't matter, after that.

Rule 5. Never say never.

Reports Wu of The Age (May ‘23)

- and remember our midfield seems to be wanting-

“He could easily run around and be one of the premier midfielders in the competition,” McGlynn said. “You see what he’s doing off half-back, he can implement that in the midfield because of his poise, how composed he is with foot, how he understands the game, knows what to do in certain situations.”

Hence, the question I suppose.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Is he first choice now? No, but that doesn't mean he couldn't become a full time midfielder

I think playing as a genuine first choice midfielder requires different skills and knowledge.

Sincs could possibly transition, however it won't be easy. I think if he wants to move into the middle full time and if his coaches support the move, it will work, but he'll need to practice being a permanent mid. I'd give it at least 12 months.

He'll need to work on his defensive efforts and tackling and he'll need to be able to handle the extra physical attention opposition coaches will demand from his direct opponents. In other words, get used to the occasional tagger

Its a lot easier to read the game from defence, than it is from the mid-field.

He has all the skill but as a mid he is looking to attack not rebound.
