Not only St Kilda, pretty sure the premiers were paying a couple of players not to play for them this year.

If the decision is made that they are not part of the future and the player also wants out, better to do it now rather than waste another year of everyones time.

I liked JB as well, a good player who gave good service and would have been great if the team was better in other areas, didn’t have the right forward line or midfield to maximize his skills during his time.

You are way overdoing it. He was a fringe player at our club. A depth player. We just brought in two blokes that are better than him. Ryan Byrnes went past him. More would go past him next year. He is not a loss at all and no one will bat an eyelid at the trade.
