Where credit is due

Cordy (in his natural position) was excellent

Sharman played a significant role on Vlaustin

And will Seb Ross get any credit?!

Those players selected themselves…then chose where they would play…just while you’re dishing out credit …

We look better with Ross in the side. Experienced smart footballer.

Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.

Cordy was very good.

Seb probably needs to work on making the distance from 40m out!

Cordy > Howard.
No doubt Howard will be shopped around.
Gresham timely game to increase his value. Still think he goes.
Ross makes a big difference. Would have been very handy last week against Carlton.

I like Cordy a lot in defence. He doesn't just run around like a headless chook. Howard is very dispensible. He should be swapped for a 3rd rounder. I wonder if there will be any takers?

Ross in form is as close to a barometer as we have…

He was sensational at the start of the year and when his form started to dip, so did ours

When he was out of sorts, so were we

Very good tonight and so were we

Gresh is the other one… he plays well, we’re usually pretty damaging

Cordy was very good, Sharman was subbed out of the game.

Seb is a great Saints man.

Gresham’s a good player when he’s on. He’s taken some time to come back from that Achilles. If he goes to Carlton it’s the sort of one that could haunt us

Always a criticism of Seb

Even when he plays a good game?!

Maybe he should be the perfect player?!

Like so many other AFL players…

Cordy was excellent, even without a boot for 5 mins
Seb was excellent too, especially early
Needs to play next year for sure
Membrey was so important for structure
We have missed him this year

Agree with the thread, Cordy had his most solid game down back today. He looked really assured and composed today, hopefully he can continue that form next week. I dont know if Hawkins is back next week, but if he is Cordy will have his hands full. Wilkie generally gets Cameron, so it will be a tougher game for our defence than today.

Are you sure that he didn't make the distance? There was no asking for a check. There was no replay (that I saw anyway).

Probably a more pertinent question

Why was there an uncontested mark on the goal line

Coming off a hammy- Seb probably didn’t drive through it fully

Would love for Gresh to play like today in the last 2 games - may even score us a late first rounder if he keeps this up

So the question is...
Do they shine when the team structure fires....

Or does the team fire when they play well?

I reckon Sharman was rested and I bet Lyon is planning to use him on Cameron next week.

I reckon Cameron would run rings round Sharman. Has to be Wilkie. Sharman plays on the interceptors - Sicily, Vlastuin. Stewart this week imo.

I guess it’s because they hadn’t been drilled in that one.

They ought to have known as individuals that Seb coming off a hammy would struggle. But they were following the patterns trained as a team?

Good question.

Alls well that ends well.

One thing I have to say I don’t like about Ross’ game in general…

Have a look at Richmond’s first goal in the second quarter, about 1min in. It’s on the highlights reel on the AFL app. Bauer maybe?

Richmond player bombs it in fast from 50m and flukishly it goes into space. Cordy is caught behind and his opponent has an opportunity to run and leap.

A few meters in front of him however is Ross. He’s almost right there where the ball is going to land but he backs off to mind his opponent. He then stands by and watches, shepherds out his opponent yes, but has a clear view of the contest and essentially let’s the tiger forward mark unopposed when he’s in the perfect position to spoil from in front.
He’s got a little bit of form in this regard… really doesn’t do well when being dragged forward. Is a bit prone to concentrating solely on his own thing opposed to doing the team play at times. Pbly not that confident in the air I guess
