This from Bigfooty, sone of those figures are alarming.:

Hi guys, some info for you that may help you in digesting why players are leaving or getting sacked. This is 99% accurate.

Coffield last three years @ $600k per season, was offered $300k for one year. Crazy money for no output.

Gresham, $850,000k for the last three years, Essendope happy to match, Saints no chance giving him that contract again.

Clark, similar money to Coffield but wants to stay with his mates, will get fair money.

Billings was paid $750,000.00 this year, I presume the same terms going forward but don’t know about the rest of his contract.

Contracts are being re-aligned for output, not necessarily potential. James Gallagher was moved on because of the above deals, whilst Satan was promoted to CEO, go figure?

Also, BJ was offered the Frankston VFL job on very big money and knocked it back, will re-sign with an improved role.

So far it looks like 2 out of 5, possibly 3.

And as magic said the criticism aimed at BM was not based on the prediction more that it was stated as fact and implied that there were issues at the club.
You forgot these:

Howard - maybe gone?

About 4 kids gone too
Adams, Allison, Connolly, Bytel

Doesn't matter how Mr Magic got his knickers in a knot, BM was close to the mark.

Jones is meant to have been offered another year.
No word on Clark.
Allison still has a year to go, so far no word from the club that he has been dumped.

The trade period will prove the accuracy on some of the others.
How will Billings feel if no one wants him ?

I'd imagine he would feel pretty bad.
But there's no joy for anyone in that.
He could take it on the chin, train in the off season like he never has before, come back determined to take the spot vacated by Gresham, and be a really strong asset.

Or he could slack off, take the (massive) money and play out his time for Sandy.

Okay include those 5 too looking like the below at this stage.

Gresham- tick
Clark- cross
Billings- cross
Coffield- tick
Jones-.cross
Howard- cross
Adams- tick
Alison- cross
Connolly- tick
Bytel tick

Batting at 50%. Hardly close to the mark.

Billings is gone, and the club is open to trading Howard so he could still end up at another club, and Alison will most likely be cut depending on the clubs success at bringing in another tall like Lycett.

A long way to go but looking like BM was close to the mark.

Paddy Dow - Ask Google
s Paddy Dow a good player?
Dow subsequently took home the VFL best-and-fairest award for his consistent efforts, as well as being named the team's Best Finals Player across their elimination and semi finals.
Another quality player coming for Sandringham

Shiel - Isnt in the best 8 midfielders for a team outside the 8. Add another year on the body of a player +30.
- He can replace Hannebury in the medical room. Either that or make friends with the other new recruit for Sandringham (Dow)

Henry Do we really need another winger? What role is he going to play? Ultimate replacement for Brad Hill. Had a good year (but only played 17 games), other than that has been in and out of Freo team.
Definately the best of the bunch so far listed.

Silvani ......
At round 8 this season Shiel was ranked the top player at Essendon & 19 in the comp…unfortunately didn’t play much after that

Billings is gone? Haven't seen that trade?

Club being open to trade is as relevant as the club wanting to keep coffield.

Alison likely to be cut is not the same as being cut.

As is said currently 50% in the predictions stakes and not exactly big calls.

when a player says he wants out via the media its safe to assume there is no point of return...footy clubs 101 stuff. Was pretty well known mid season Billings would never pull on the RW&B jumper again.

Same Coff...more than gonski, and again was known mid season...hence BM posting him in his list of gonski...

percentages maybe not your strong point?

BM must have worked out something was up but it was hopeless, because Billing was in a huge vacuum of Couldabeen champions exodusing Moorabbin. However after mid season he played in rounds 17, 19, and 20 without much preparation at all, only to reinjure his hamstring twice and played one more game of reserves for the year.

By that stage, when his manager started screaming for offers, it became clear he wanted to leave by mid season and he would never wear our jumper again.

Hmmmm. That sounds plausible.

How does Peris get a tick when he wasn't listed by BM?

Is the critique the information accuracy or the number of players exiting?

Keep in mind we average 8-9 player turn over per year over the last 5 seasons.

I see. You want posters to accurately name all players being traded/delisted/requesting-to-be-traded at least 2 months before trade period.

Anyhow…there are probably 1-2 players from that bunch of 11 that each one of us would have preferred stayed.

I think our team will be poorer unless Jones can string together some matches and he comes in to replace Gresh, and I’m disappointed that we are losing Coff who was taken at pick 8.

I’m happy that we have gained an end of first round pick. I suppose the main aim as far as the club is concerned is to go to the National Draft and find another Windy/Owens/Phillipou type. Fingers crossed

Ok. Got it.

You want posters to accurately name all players being traded/delisted/requesting-to-be-traded 3 months before trade period.
He listed names didn't he?

I'm just s*** stirring of course.

I think BM was remarking on all the rumours circulating at the time, of players wanting out.
