2023 is a big year for Hunter

Post: # 1990307Post saynta »

From SEN,

"Hunter Clark

After flirting with a trade to North Melbourne, Hunter Clark has remained at St Kilda. The question now is whether Ross Lyon is the man to maximise his talent.

Clark’s career to date has been marred by poorly timed injuries that have stymied his development.

Will he develop as a midfielder or find a home at half-back?

His best position is equally up for debate, but there’s no doubt St Kilda will be counting on Clark to deliver on his talent and become a key part of their lineup in 2023."

Rawlings at Norf keeping a close eye on him apparently. Staying in close contact with him as well.

I think the club should target one of their players in retaliation.

It's only fair.

Can't see him pushing into the midfield with his fitness base.
Best we could hope in 2023 is for him to be an adequate HB replacement for Sinclair of he pushes into the midfield

Skilled, kicks both sides, balanced and poised, tough, courageous.

Has had some injuries and then got pole axed. I wonder if he needs to (or can?) add evasiveness to his game. I guess he might learn a few tricks. Otherwise, I fear that the lovely poise and balance might lead to him getting pole-axed again. Rank him up there in the top 10 players skillwise.

You're quite brilliant Shane, yeah..terrific!

Being a vegan won't allow you to build muscle mass as much as a meat eater ...he is basically f***ed if he doesn't change his diet ..the proof is already there ..a vegan diet is great if you want to be a stick man and anaemic..your reactions will be slower and prone to injury due to lack of speed and strength ... needs to change his ideology and eat some beast ..he is a gladiator not a soy boy .

Underwhelming article.
However Hutchison knows his audience.
Say/write nothing that's not already well done, no insight and it starts a thread with a typical round of (largely) unfair comments and the usual rubbish from Vort the anti saint.
Hutchy must think money for jam.
His click bait is cheap in every sense.

What a load of bollocks.
Eating meat isn’t the only way to bulk up or perform athletically.
And this is coming from someone who bloody loves eating meat.

Hunter Clark has the same silky skills as Nick dal Santo, like a Rolls Royce, maybe Dal can teach him to be more elusive. I reckon he'll be the big improver under Ross Lyon, Lenny Hayes and Robert Harvey - a few others as well.

Anyone notice the size of arms compared to his AFLW colleague in the photo on the 2022 membership envelope?

There is no difference!

Would he have some protection under the equity and diversity policy if the club attemp to discriminate?

I believe the Equal Opportunity (Puny Arms Rights) Amendment Bill 2021 provides said protections.

I think Hunter has reached a point in his career where he realises he needs to step up. I think he would have been working his backside off regardless of whether Lyon was there or if Ratten was still coaching

He's had a bad run of luck and I hope it all turns for him. As they say; you make your own luck and he just needs to put in the hours on the track and in the gym

I agree diddly, what a load of bollocks!!!!

Someone needs to do a bit of research on elite athletes who are vegans (not just vegetarians) first before opening mouth aka typing finger and inserting foot😏

Venus (& her equally ‘power’ tennis sister) Williams say Hi 👋
Nic Kyrios has converted to veganism of recent years and says the power part of his game has risen.

Novak Djokovic (?Spelling) is vegan.

Murray Rose - Australia’s great Olympic gold medal winning 1500 metre swimmer was a vegan. Won gold at Melbourne 1956 Olympics when the lumpen proletariat of Australian society didn’t even know what veganism was!!

Can’t recall his name but there is a German fellow (Patrick ???)a few years ago who was the worlds top power athlete.

Morgan Mitchell sprinter gold at Olympics in Rio

Lewis Hamilton F1 racing driver

Carl Lewis - track & Field 9 time Olympic gold medal winner.
Kendrick Farris weight lifter who broke an Olympic world record lifting something like nearly 380kgs if I recollect correctly.

As I don’t follow UK & European soccer or US Grid Iron & Basketball, so I can’t recall their names off top of my head. One is a NBA champion name Ja? McGee. However, I’m sure if you’ll find many top players in those codes who have turned to veganism. I’ve read about them in a vegan magazine I subscribe to which focuses on elite athletes.

Scott Jurek an ultramarathon runner.

David Hale - British boxer 2 world titles.I think.

Mike Tyson - Heavy weight world title fighter turned to veganism - cleansed his body of neglect from drugs, booze and animal based foods over his boxing career. Tho’ we vegetarians & vegans don’t hold him up as a ‘poster boy.

Hey even Arnie Schwarzenegger is on a plant based diet.

AFL players I know of are Chris Mayne & Ben Brown
AFlW player Erin Phillips.
Cricketers - Peter Siddle - fast bowler. Adam Zampa - leggie

There have been many top surfers who are vegans.

I know there are Australian Olympian cyclists, tri-athletes & a discus thrower & a snow boarder who are/were also vegans during their elite career.

The list goes on & on & on - these are just a few who spring to mind. I’m a little bit hazy trying to recall as I’ve been under a general anesthetic this afternoon… so still in a fog!!

Tomorrow when I’m clear- headed (as clear headed as a 78 year old can be🤪) I’ll return and provide more names for you to check out, Rubyjo.

Does Clark need to be built like Rene Kink or something?

Personally I think it’s not lack of size (irrelevant) it’s the fact he carries puppy fat 6 seasons in that’s concerning (pot and handles)

It signifies that it’s a diet and work ethic issue… he isn’t in AFL condition

He’s clearly a good player, and courageous but inconsistent as are many who are not Pros

Lachie Whitfield - similar position and playing style - is skinny as fk!

And with his collision injuries- that is purely bad luck - can’t be controlled in a contact sport… part and parcel

But you should still be training and presenting to elite standards if you want to be elite - he seems lazy

After the club tried to trade him ???
