At some point the club are going to need at look a picking up at a 2nd tall forward or a hybrid ruck/tall forward to help out Marshall? I think its too big of an ask to expect Jack Hayes to be ready to play the role after doing an ACL.

For me Elliott Himmelberg would be suitable if he wanted out of Adelaide? Josh Schache who is currently out of contract might also come cheaply if the Dogs get Lobb.

Perhaps they are waiting to see if a player eg Flynn or Briggs gets pushed out of GWS following the Soldo/Hopper trade?

Personally I don’t mind that. Don’t rate him.
Where are you hearing that?

Would've thought he was a better bet than Cordy
Somewhere on social media… I should have added take with a grain of salt. My bad.

Yeah just saw it in the paper too.

Good news I think, we don't need more mediocre players.

How do you think we will get better. Others in the 8 are getting stronger. We have only added Cordy. We need to look at recycled players to fill the void like Weiderman and the likes otherwise we are just making up the numbers..

1. Current game plan: Bomb it long down the line.
We need more contested marking tall players to help out King. Membrey, Battle etc too small. I find it funny how we hold all our hope on Hayes that has only played a handful of games and coming back from knee reco. I like him but not the savior.

2. Going to draft.
This won't help our current game plan. Draftees will need time to develop, and be the right picks otherwise going backwards.

3. Change the current game plan to use the strength of our list. Still may not have all of the pieces and could take time to develop.

I feel we are just going to be making up the numbers again unless something changes.

Am I the only one that thinks north cleaned up today with the JHF trade. Essentially snagged pick 3 and a future first (very likely top 10) in a 2023 stacked draft. I mean JHF has the makings of a great player but done nothing to suggest he will be a generational talent.

Noth gave up pick 1 also.

But they now have 2, 3, 40, 43 and Ports future first pick.

They did very well.

JHF looks like a generational talent BTW so Port have done really well also.

North basically gave up two pick ones.

We didn't see any evidence of that this year....

Are we actually participating in the trade week?

I’m telling you

We are on the nose and completely irrelevant

Not a mention in the media, not a player nominating us

We are about to do what s*** teams do - tumble down the ladder and spend a decade out of the finals

Hopefully we rebuild at the same time Tassie come in - sound familiar?!

If the only thing we do in the trade period is bring in the worst key defender in the AFL as a delisted FA

We are laughable

Cordy

DeGoey was obviously very keen.

Supporters on here bagged our recruiters for bringing in players from other clubs.

Now we look like we’ve settled and are going to the draft.

Cordy - seriously - we are hanging our hat on a C/D grade defender

DeGoey turned his back on our offer

Going to the draft - positive spin - code for no one wants to play at StK

You said no one.

Collingwood offered more what can you do.

Other than Toranto and Hopper who else has actually moved that we would actually pursue?

Even North and Essendon with their horrendous situations, are still trying something.
We have gone into a Zen meditation

North just lost a 19 year old pick 1.

Essendon got two VFL players.

Imagine if we did the same.

Prefer to be either one of those clubs

North have added an arsenal of picks and a couple of players

Essendon saw two need to fill and took a risk to fill them

Dogs are trying to improve their list

Richmond and Geelong obviously

BTW
Collingwood did not offer more, just put their original offer back on the table. Which was less than our offer

Yep Essendon got a VFL player from Carlton we could still grab Dow or Stocker would that make you feel better?

Weiderman is he really what we want? He has more faults than strengths and is basically being given away.

Essendon took a punt on an underperforming key forward a couple of years ago

He kicked 50 and won a B&F this season

Sometimes you take a punt, if it’s not gonna cost much.

BTW
I’d love Paddy Dow for a low pick, not sure we need Stocker

Is it my imagination or are we harshly judged in comparison to other teams?
